NYX COSMETICS FTW!

Who says good makeup has to cost an arm and a leg?! As a self-proclaimed lip gloss addict, I can tell you that makeup in general is one of my favorite things about being a girl. However, I don’t like having to put a tube of lip gloss or an eyeshadow on layaway. That’s why I love NYX Cosmetics. It’s like getting MAC quality make-up for a fraction of the price plus I don’t have to put up with the too-busy-doing-my-own-makeup-to-help-you makeup artists/sales people and those hot ass vanity lights.

NYX was started in LA by Toni Ko back in 1999. And I bet you thought that NYX stood for New York (insert random X word here..maybe Xylophone?) lol don’t worry because I did too, only to find out that, NOPE it’s named after the Greek Goddess of the night, Nyx. How cool is that?! Reminds me of that disco song by Cheryl Lynn, ‘In The Night’… although I like Miliyah Kato’s version better.

Anywho, I love love love their Ultimate Pearl Eyeshadows! They’re my favorite (after the lip glosses of course) and the reason why I heart them is because they blend so beautifully, plus with the little sparklies in it, they catch ANY light and make your eyes pop. And with the 18 colors, you can find a hue to match whatever outfit you’re thinking of.

I also like their Trio Eyeshadows, that come in groups of complimenting or contrasting colors. This is perfect for me since I like to blend colors a lot so there’s the possiblity it could get crowded in my little train case if I had to buy separate colors all of the time, but since they’re all together, I’m good. Oh, and fear not, dears, if you’re the type of girl who loves bold intense colors, they’ve also got Loose Pearl Eyeshadows, and while not as many colors as MAC has, it’s enough.

I mentioned that the Pearl shadows were my favorite after the lip glosses earlier, and I’ll tell you why. It’s insane how they’ve got almost every imaginable color/flavor of lip gloss, stick, stain, gelly and balm you can think of. I tell ‘ya, it’s insane!! I really like the smell and color of “Frosted Walnut” and it’s like the one color I buy the most. I had to promise myself that I’d buy a different flavor when I run out, lol. Hmm..the Tinted Lip Spa in “Matador” looks interesting……
