So earlier today, my brother showed me a video on youtube of a person getting their eye color changed..permantently. Seriously, it was so weird that I googled around, just to make sure it wasn’t some phony video, and I found this website “New Color Iris” . Sure as day, people are lining up to get surgery that will eliminate color contacts and permanently change the appearance of their eyes! When will people be satisfied with what they have!?
First nose jobs, breast implants, lip injections, butt injections, ear trimming, and even toe shortening (yes, I actually know someone who’s got it done.) Have we gone too far? Don’t get me wrong, some of these cosmetic procedures are necessary, especially for people who may be disfigured, or as the website points out, albino. Also all of the procedures are definitely amazing, but how long is it until we eventually reach the edge. When will enough be enough. I’m not a very religious person, but I feel as though we’re trying to play “Creator”, and reality is slowly but surely starting to morph into those science fiction books I read as a kid.
Watch the video (warning, it’s of the actual surgery, so…um..yeah)
As cool as the results are, this is still too creepy for me. I mean, as I say with all frivolous surgery, you’ll always be you. No matter how much you change the outer shell. Plus what are you gonna do when you have kids and they inherit your REAL genes? Unless of course they invent some injectable serum that can permanently alter your DNA….which I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s not just a few years away, I mean we can already make “designer babies” right? pfft.

While I think this is definitely interesting, its just too much of a permanent thing for me to ever be interested in.

^probably. I mean I can see it being beneficial to Albino people since it helps protect them, but for those who just want to be “different” {rolling eyes}
That’s just gross. >< Didn’t hitler try to do this?

Talk about being superficial.
Why would you want to change your eye color?!
That’s way too much.
