OMG! I’m really excited to say that I just read that Honey Magazine will be rising from the dead as an online mag/community!! You have no I.D.E.A. how much this is making my day because I used to love to read Honey along with Jump! and Suede magazines, both now defuct, but both VERY awesome! There’s also Honey’s competition Vibe Vixen, but I don’t read that one too often. Either way, there was/is just something different [real] about these magazines and it’s really sad that they had to shut down. HOWEVER! with Honey coming back, I’m uber excited!
If you’ve no clue what I’m talking about, Honey Magazine was one of the very few magazines aimed at Black women that wasn’t boring, or repetative (Hi, Essence! Hi, Ebony!) Maybe it’s because it was targeting the younger women and I just can’t relate to the articles in the other Black mags, but Honey was like a breath of fresh air. Fresh and affordable clothing, great hairstyle ideas, realistic advice, and models who LOOKED LIKE ME! <33
I REALLY cannot wait until it launches, as I will be one of the first signed up! HAHA
Now just put Suede Back into publication and I’ll be straight. In the meantime though, I’ll just get my Suede-esque fix from her long lost twin LUIRE. <33
