I like to categorise myself as a nerd or a geek (especially in the literary, gaming, and internet realms) — to which I’m proud of and have no shame in proclaiming that fact. Because of such claims, I am happy to promote my new smexy computer christened, Provo, along with a new monitor. On a side note: I may sound like I know what I’m talking about, but really, I am not a computer hardware person. In fact, I’m one of the worse person to consult about these issues. I know enough to slide by, though. Here are some pictures Provo and its monitor along with its specifications.

Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 2443 BWX 24″
Motherboard: Asus P5KPL-VM
Processor: Intel Pentium E5200 Core 2 Duo 2.5ghz
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT 512mb
RAM: 4gb DDR2 RAM (But Windows XP only recognises 3.5gb)
DVD Player/Writer: LG DVD RW Super Multi Drive
Hard Drives: Seagate 250gb (named Palindrome) + 500gb (named Pillar)

The custom computer ended up costing me $450 and the monitor $287 (after converting from Korean won). That’s my new baby. And even though I sound like I know a lot by listing these specifications — I’m not. I had my friend jot them down for me since she’s more tech-oriented than I ever will be!

Three.

@Lan—But you have TWO monitors! XD

@Soybean—For the most part, yeah.  My dad gave me $600 bucks, and I contributed $300 to the total to get this. smile

Nice computer Tara. Was it your birthday gift?

Oh me too! I hate my laptop. It’s so screwy.

:O I like your computer. I could use a new one.
