So last night I got to test run my stripper shoes and I also decided I’d switch up my look from wild playful curls to a sleek straight style. What’s even better is I got to test run both at Se7en’s party at Circle with Ningin Fam’s Mia, David, and my home girl Christina, who DJ’s for Soompi Radio Club. I gotta say I’ve got sorta a mixed feeling about my hair and I’m still in love with my shoes. Check it:
Hair: Ok, so you guys should know by now that I’m completely obsessed with my natural hair. I talk about it enough. Well I’ve kinda been neglecting to mention that since I’d first chopped off my chemically relaxed ends, I’d only gotten a trim maybe twice. Yeah that’s right. Twice in five years. I know. Anywho, I first went into the beauty parlor just to get it trimmed but decided I’d wear it straight for once. After getting burned repeatedly by some super blow dryer and getting scolded in Spanish for not keeping my head still [DUDE IT WAS BURNING!? HELLO?!] my hair turned out really pretty and super straight. The stylist cut about two inches off because I had a lot of damage from coloring but it’s cool…I needed it anyway. Now why I say I’ve got mixed feelings about it is because while I do like it straight once in a while, I don’t like getting my hair done. Which is part of the reason why I went natural in the first place: The hot blow dryers, flat irons, and getting cursed at in Spanish doesn’t really sit well with me and my head. I’m more of a wash and go kinda girl, with a detangle here and there. However, sometimes one wants to switch it up and Dominican Blowouts are the best way I know to get a straight look that lasts without resorting to chemicals, but when I think about the process of getting one, I freak out. Well anywho, what’s done is done, but you can best believe that this will be my last Dominican Blowout for quite some time.
Shoes: Moving on, like I said I’m still incredibly in love with my stripper shoes. Even moreso because after dancing for 4 hours and walking up and down stairs all night, my feet don’t even remember wearing them. That’s right sisters, my feet DO NOT hurt! OMG, do you know how happy I am to have found a pair of 5 inch heels that don’t hurt your feet?! I remember in my other post a few of you thought they’d be tacky. But I honestly think that if I’d never mentioned that they were stripper shoes the thoughts would have been different. But to me it doesn’t matter. I don’t look at fashion as compartmental. I’ll wear men’s cologne and lipstick as eyeshadow just as easily. So I don’t care what anybody thinks, my “tacky stripper shoes” are frawesome +1. Oh and I totally loved the “Those are hot” and “Where’d she get those” stares..hehe
