In keeping with Tiffany’s and Ms. Tyra’s newfound love of short chick models, I though I would expound on the subject. Since I am only 5′1″ tall and have been made fun of for my “vertical challenged” physique, I am always proud of those shorty’s workin’ it in modeling and in everything. It just so happens that some very famous models are 5′7″ or under! Sure, they might not get as many runway jobs as their 5′10 colleagues, they are just as gorgeous, or shall I say, fierce! So here is my list of all time favorite short fashion models. By-the-way, when I was a short lil’ 13-year-old, I so wanted to be a model and break the stereo typical model requirements. Although, that dream is long gone (due to the fact that I’m not “model” pretty and I don’t like my picture taken) I still admire those less leggy successful models. However, there are valid reasons that the fashion industry prefers or requires tall models. They are just better hangers. Now rock on with these shawty’s! (FYI- I used to get so mad at guys that called me shorty, before I figured out what they meant! HA!)
Above, clockwise from upper left:
Taylor Warren, 5′8″: Emphatically a print model, Warren represents that contingent of It girls for whom attitude is more important than inches.
Kate Moss, 5′7″: The reigning queen of fashion always stuck out when parading down the catwalk with women three inches taller than her—but that only seemed to add to her popularity.
Devon Aoki, 5′5″: Yes, she’s more famous for print and movie work, but Aoki has taken to the catwalk several times despite her size.
Laetitia Casta, 5′6″: Granted, she’s more or less retired now—but the curvy Costa was similar to Moss in her ability to use her… um… different figure to catapult her to fame.
Lauren Hutton, 5′6″: Yeah, I wouldn’t have guessed that either, but there it is.
Twiggy, 5″4′: It’s hard to remember that one of the most dominant models of her or any generation so petite.

woah yea did not have any sense that any of these women were so short (relative to others in their industry)… presence > stature.
