It’s a universal fact that women go to crazy extremes to achieve bigger eyes; plastic surgery, eyelid tape, eyelid glue, white eyeliner, eyelash extensions, fake eyelashes and well now… LED eyelashes. The LED lashes features an “inclination sensor” with mercury that can perceive the movements of the pupil in the eyes and eyelids. If someone wears it and moves her head, the LED eyelashes will flicker following the movement.

Now, before you start attacking the idea, the LED eyelashes are actually art pieces part of a project by artist Soomi Park called, “LED Eyelash Project.” Check out the video below:

What do you think guys, is this a satire on crazy beauty ideals? What do you think the artist is trying to tell us?

Mercury isn’t… exactly “safe” and with that said, I don’t think LED lights near your eyes are a terribly good idea either. People have officially gone bonkers! :P

Haha that’s probably the statement they’re trying to make about beauty extremes?

^ Only happens in the land of the rising sun. :P

those are cool, but i think it would hurt my eyes too much since the lights would cause glares when trying to see

Haha yeah that’s something to think about. Also, I’m not sure if it’s safe to be keeping mercury that close to your head…

Extreme.. Maybe for Halloween. XD
