This is a no-brainer. Hands down, the puppy wins. What is it about glasses making puppies instantly cute? This isn’t to say that they aren’t cute already. Glasses on puppies is exactly how I feel about attractive men, when wet. (What is it about water making attractive men more attractive-er?) Put your answers to that question on hold, as I present to you this week’s cute creature: A puppy wearing pink glasses. More »

What can be better than a cute and adorable plush toy? A cute and adorable plush toy that can breathe! Well, create the illusion that it’s breathing. According to the manufacturer, “These adorable pets offer a real pet ownership experience without the hassles and expense. Say goodbye to feedings and vet bills. Say hello to lots of love and cuddles.” More »

I am an absolute girlwreck when it comes to organizing my lip gloss. While most women of my girly-caliber (and a high caliber, might I add) keep their lip gloss neatly stored in make-up bags or kits, lip gloss exists everywhere for me — jean pockets, random purses from a season ago, the deep crevices of your couch, in my car (probably not a good idea), the kitchen junkdrawer…just about anywhere. I’m also prone to last-minute beauty emergencies related to missing lip gloss or impromptu girls’ night outings. Luckily, Japan has a solution to keeping my reckless lip gloss displacement habit in check: Lip gloss and mascara cell phone charms! More »

If I could live in a storefront display of any store, kind of like Lindsay Lohan’s Confessions of a Broken heart music video but with less angst and domestic violence, I’d live in Camomilla. As Italy’s sole destination for Hello Kitty, Camomilla’s Milan location has the cutest store displays for the 2009 Autumn/Winter season. But is it really live-able? I don’t see why not, it’s got all the basics covered: Pearls, chandeliers, roses, beautiful shoes and handbags, Hello Kitty — nothing is missing here. More »

Living in Southern California isn’t exactly conducive to wearing fleece. Whenever an Old Navy Performance Fleece commercial is on the tube, I’m often left wondering about situations in which I’d have to actually use fleece. I’ve only narrowed it down to two situations: 1. Hell really does freeze over, making California legitimately cold. 2. I somehow start working in a subzero freezer, at a slaugther house. Or the most probable of situations, 3. I come across Hair-mo, a kawaii accessories brand from Taiwan and immediately want a Hair-mo pouch. More »

Alexa Chung, proves a great point about the timeless quilted Chanel handbag. If Chanel were a language, it’d only have one letter in their alphabet: C. I don’t claim to be fluent enough (or rich enough) in Chanel-ese but this is all I can read from the quilted Chanel handbag: Girly, classic and chic. And expensive — definitely not something to be licking. More »

Lady Gaga and I have tons in common. Nevermind the fact that I’m not a chart-topping pop princess or musically talented. We both love fashion and we both love Hello Kitty. We also love it when both collide. Only, she has the advantage of having a designer create a dress made entirely out of plush Hello Kitty dolls for a recent kawaii-inspired photo shoot for Sanrio. And of course, my complete attention and adoration for Lady Gaga wearing nothing but Hello Kitty. More »

Okay, so these meringue rings by Tanja Hartmann aren’t exactly finger lickin’ good. They’ll probably taste like silicon but at least they’ll make your digits look like you’ve dipped your fingers into a big tub of delicious meringue. Not that I mind or anything — I’m no big fan of having ants on my fingers. More »

I often tend to judge humanity in a person based on how they feel about chocolate cake. I have this theory that you aren’t human unless you’ve got a weakness for chocolate cake. Otherwise, I don’t understand you if you don’t like chocolate cake. However, with the chocolate cake shot, I can have my cake and you can drink it too! Or, I can just have both and then it’d be a cake-cake situation. More »

As a blogger, I think this is one of the hardest blog posts I have to write. When I dreamed up this weekly feature I thought it was a genius idea…as I tend to think of most of my ideas. Now that I’m actually blogging this out, it’s tough. I mean, really. Really just one cute boy of the week, Jinra? Really, Jinra? It’s true I’d like to just blog about them all but that would ruin my mission of bringing you cute and girly on diverse levels. A blog purely about cute boys would be another blog. Since this is not that blog, your cute boy of the week is Ed Westwick. More »

What’s so great about actress Zooey Deschanel (500 Days of Summer, Yes Man) is that when this week passes, she’ll still be cute. For Zooey, cute lies in her style — the way she makes frocks from the 60s look as if they were custom-made today just for her. The same could be said for her hair. I don’t know any other celebrities who can pull off mod-inspired hair like she does. Currently, my hair is trying to channel Zooey Deschanel. Please take note of the use of the word “trying.” More »

In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the mighty Pon De Lion Mister Donut mascot eats himself when hungry. Could you blame him? He’s made almost entirely out of donuts AND he’s cute! The jungle may just have to evoke his crown since he’s that cute…and edible. Japan has no shame when it comes to animals typically perceived as ferocious. Czech out the new Pon De Lion commercials. Meet Rilakkuma, Japan’s ambassador of lazy. He’s not officially the ambassador of lazy, but he’s mostly seen doing just that: being lazy. In fact, his name in Japanese is a combination of “relax” and “bear.” Perhaps he’s what Hello Kitty would be if she took breaks throughout her 35-year career– and was a bear. It’s no surprise that Rilakkuma has a San-X line that’s spa-themed. More »

Bonjour mon amie! Le French Bulldog is a cute dog I say oui oui to! Could you even resist if you see one wearing heart-shaped glasses over those big black eyes? Tres chic! Okay, enough with the French-talk. Let’s get serious here — French Bulldog puppies that have fallen and can’t get up instantly equates to well over a million hits on Youtube. We love it when other people in the media have issues, why not puppies? See for yourself. More »

When I think of state lotto commercials, I think images of people on yachts, bottles of Cristal, mansions and middle class people frantically jumping up and down when they’ve discovered they’ve won the lotto. Nowhere near this mix are images of fuzzy bunnies, puppies, kittens and piglets. I obviously, am not from New York. Apparently, New York is now marketing it’s lottery to New Yorkers with cute animals in it’s Sweet Million Campaign. More »

It’s impossible to associate the word failure with red lipstick. The beauty of red lipstick is timeless and universal. For such a universal beauty staple, there are a lot of women who don’t think they can pull it off because they believe they need to be a certain shade of pale in order to make it work for them. I’ve got news, ladies. Red lipstick? Yes, you can. More »

Sweet Dreams, a short animated film by Kristen Lepore is so sweet, you’ll give yourself a toothache watching it. Which isn’t entirely surprising given that she used tons of sugar cones, sugar cubes, cupcakes and well…anything with sugar in it to create the film. Sweet Dreams was awarded this year’s SXSW’s “Special Grand Jury” award. More »

The next time you get your nails did and you’re hassled by your persistent manicurist, just know you’ve got one extra option worth caring about: 3-D. Who needs glitter gel or painted on flowers when you can have 3-D flowers or gems ON your nails, in your face like it ain’t nobody’s business? When it comes to nails and bling, the Japanese don’t play around. More »

Ever dreamed of looking like a cute Kpop star? Now you can, (literally!) with this girly-fied version of her trademark sunnies. More »

Awhile back, I remember stumbling upon StuffOnMyCat.com and seriously dying from the hilarity of it. It’s unfortunate that the new Mimobot Hello Kitty flash drives have no place on that site — because then it’d be about stuff IN my cat. StuffInMyCat.com? Doesn’t sound very appropriate. More »
