And cuter! EyePet is a game on PS3 that makes use of the PlayStation Eye (a webcam peripheral, successor to EyeToy).

This game is all about having fun with a creature that’s little, cute, adorable, funny, energetic, playful… You get the point. I’m still not sure what it is (I mean, what’s a simian? And what mammal comes from an egg?) but, this thing is better than any Tamagotchi, Nintendog or Milo.

It’s very interactive and you can:

• move your arm towards it or roll a virtual ball at it and it will leap over it
• pet it, scratch it, poke it or tickle it
• surprise it by clapping your hands

The possibilities are endless. And did I mention that you can play dress up with it?

EyePet has already been released in Europe and Australia (we got it on October 27!). Details of a certain US release is vague since the release date has been pushed back to the early half of 2010.

Bad luck guys. In the mean time, satisfy your EyePet-ly needs at the EyePet website. There are wallpapers, a game called High Flyer and all kinds of other good stuff.
