In my tween years, Hannah Montana didn’t exist and my family had yet to discover the joys of the satellite dish. Instead, I resorted to a lot of daytime talk shows for after school entertainment. I watched all the classic ’90s daytime talk shows; Jenny Jones, Ricki Lake, Maury — I watched it all. It was always the “Geek to Chic” episodes I enjoyed most. What’s not to fancy about the idea that someone average could look…not average? Although those talk shows are long gone, the idea of the make-over movie has yet to escape Hollywood. Enjoy some of my picks for Top 5 make-over movies!

1. Pretty Woman (1990)
The best kind of makeovers are the ones that involve hookers. Trust me, Julia Roberts plays the best hooker. Pretty Woman happens to be one of my favorite movies of all time!

2. Clueless (1995)
The most notable make-over to take place in Clueless was the transformation of Brittany Murphy’s character Tai, from slacker-chic to Beverly Hills babe! Me not include this in the top 5? As if.

3. Mean Girls (2004)
Personally, of all Lindsay Lohan movies, Mean Girls put her on the map. Not because she was made-over into one of the Plastics, but because some of the best one-liners come from this film.

4. She’s All That (1999)
“I feel just like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, except for that whole hooker thing.” Two words: Prom Dance.

5. The Devil Wears Prada (2006)
Anne Hathaway is no stranger to movie make-overs. Prior to The Devil Wears Prada, she starred in The Princess Diaries where she was…made over. Personally, I’m more a fan of her Devil Wears Prada make-over. That, or it could be the Chanel talking.
