Macarons, not to be confused with macaroons, are hands down, my favorite French pastry ever. They look a lot like colorful mini-hamburgers, but I assure you these traditional pastries taste nothing like hamburger. Because then, that would be kind of disgusting — hamburger flavored pastries? Macarons in a nutshell, are traditional French pastries made out of egg whites, almond powder, powdered sugar and regular sugar with a ganache cream in the middle.Definitely not for you if you’re on a diet.

They come in a wide variety of flavors from apple to green tea to mocha. Macarons aren’t typically something I find myself eating on a regular basis given that they’re kind of expensive and hard to find where I live. Hence…they’re what I wish for this Christmas.

Oooh lala where can u get these, Jinra :)

The closest place I can think of is this Japanese bakery on 17th in Costa Mesa, and at the Cake House in Brea on Beach Blvd. -_- Nowhere near us, unless you know of a Vietnamese/French bakery that does macarons.

Oooh lala where can u get these, Jinra :)

Must find a way to ship ganache to CA without it going bad… ;)

HAHA I would love you for that. Or, you can just make macarons when I return, haha.
