Joanna Newsom is a harpist, singer-songwriter, land animal, wood nymph, distant cousin of San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom, and girlfriend of Saturday Night Live’s Andy Samberg. There is an ethereal, child-like quality about her that makes her seem like she is not of this planet. However, how many wood nymphs do you see wearing a pair of Christian Louboutin heels while playing the harp? More »

To be the life of the cocktail party, one must know the rules of the cocktail party. A cocktail party may sound like a superfluous idea, but they’re actually useful when it comes to two things; networking and dating. Future soulmate, business partner, best friend — you never know who you could meet at a cocktail party, so it’s best to understand the do’s and don’ts. More »

With the pink Adidas by Stella McCartney yoga mat, who says you don’t have to do yoga in style? The year is still new and there’s still time to stretch and pose your way into the body you want this year. What’s great about this yoga mat besides being pink, Adidas and Stella McCartney is that it features a leaf-inspired emboss and anti-slip surface. Being the super klutz that I am, this is pretty much the yoga mat for me. More »

From Flauntme: We all know the health benefits of fruits and vegetables in our diets, but how do they benefit us in our beauty products? What about various fruity scented beauty products, do we like the way they smell? Which scents smell the best? More »

If more fruits and vegetables were served in this manner, children would probably be more inclined to eat them– it’s just a thought, albeit a fanciful and impractical one. Here are a few fruit and vegetable sculptures mixed in along with some more elaborate ones you can admire. More »

Merriam-Webster describes a femme fatale as “a woman who attracts men by an aura of charm and mystery.” Dunny is a combination of the words devil and bunny (based from an original prototype). When they are combined, they make up Kidrobot’s new series of Dunnies. The Dunny Fatale series will seduce you with female artists such as Kathie Olivas, Junko Mizuno, Toofly, Tara McPherson, and Amanda Visell, among others. More »

If you’re still reeling from the excitement of the Lady Gaga Barbie dolls, get a load of the Lady Gaga sugar cookies. A Lady Gaga super fan who isn’t me, made a batch of sugar cookies paying tribute to the various Lady Gaga looks throughout last year. You know you’ve made it big when people are making sugar cookies of you. How sweet — literally. More »

Chace Crawford, Gossip Girl hottie, is featured in Glamour Magazine’s February issue. Sure, given his looks and star appeal this isn’t really a big deal, but it is. The spread he’s featured in is all about male attention-grabbing clothes which, luckily for most of us, aren’t of the racy, revealing sort. It’s all about Chace Crawford and some model wearing bright-colored, candy-inspired fashion ensembles. The looks are easy to pull off and hey — it helps a lot that Chace Crawford is in the spread. Maybe we could learn a thing or two from these looks. More »

From Flauntme: It’s quite rare that I can walk into a Sephora store and not stop to smell the delicious Philosophy 3-in-1 shampoo, body wash and bubble bath. This line has been around for so long, and they have developed an amazing range of scents that are so spot-on to their food counterparts that I sometimes wish I could eat them (not a good idea with soap, btw). Today I was dreaming about creating my own cupcake-scented shower with Philosophy soaps! More »

Allow me to quote the great words of Beyonce Knowles by saying, “I don’t think you’re ready for this GirlyBubble jelly because our editorial specials are too beautylicious!” Granted, that might not be the exact lyrical quote, but know this: The Beautylicious Special brings the best in food-related girl stuff from both GirlyBubble and our sister beauty site FlauntMe. Everyday this week has its own flavor, so expect some beautylicious blog posts related to that flavor. Here’s what’s planned: More »

There is no doubt that I love cupcakes. Every time I eat one, my taste buds do back flips. If I have a bad day, when I eat a cupcake, my troubles go away. They make me happy. The thing about cupcakes is that whether you are 5 or 75 years old, you are never too old for one. Aside from the baker, what makes a cupcake is not only its taste, but a cute design too. This led me to find my Top 10 Cutest Cupcakes. More »

There is something strange I have always found about The Magnetic Fields. Their songs tend to have very sorrowful, poetic lyrics about romance set to beautiful, whimsical, cutesy, and happy sounding musical arrangements. Confusion and irony aside, this is okay with me since this is a reason why they are one of my favorite bands. This Tuesday, Jan. 26 the band will release a new full length album called Realism. If you are already fan like I am or curious as to who they are, you can preview the album on their MySpace (or watch the fan-made video below). The closet romantic in me is in awe with what is heard so far. More »

Ever since the “French bull dog puppy can’t get up” made a killing on Youtube, I have not been able to look past French bull dogs. In my opinion, I really do feel like that that Youtube video really brought the French bull dog to the attention of many…people who seem to not get enough of cute animals on Youtube. 3 million + people to be exact. This particular French bull dog named Shio, deserves just as much attention as she is this week’s Cute Creature Feature pick. More »

When parents upload videos of their children online, sometimes it is cute, while other times it is not. In those cases where it is not cute, a child looks lost and awkward while obviously being directed by his parents off camera. But those other times when it is cute, the child is a ham for the camera and comes off with a certain charm about him. The five year old Japanese boy with a ukulele falls under the category of the latter. His videos have been making their rounds on the internet since late last year, and he has garnered a small cult following. That is not surprising find out. Whenever I watch his videos, I have a huge smile on my face. More »

Korean artist Jin Young Yu is a woman who prefers to be a homebody instead of going out. When she does go out, she likes to remain unnoticed. Her haunting work mirrors her quiet personality. Her translucent sculptures represent “invisible people” who blend in with their environment to “climb into a space of their own and reject other people’s intrusion.” More »

Or at least marry in it. Yes, the adorable Hello Kitty has been spotted not only on toilet seats and on people’s nails - she is a notorious wedding crasher. More »

One thing my boudoir lacks is lingerie. Sadly, lingerie really has no place in my life right now. Anyone care to change that? (Insert cricket noises here.) ….or not. If it had a place in my life, I’d be all about black, vintage lingerie. To me nothing is more bold, yet feminine at the same time as black lingerie. Unfortunately, it’s such a shame that the lingerie I tend to like is a little on the expensive side. La Perla, Stella McCartney, (pictured) must you spite me and my wallet? More »

When I stay with friends who live in another city, they are always gracious hosts. They put effort in showing me a fun time and making sure that I’m as comfortable as possible since I’m away from home. Sometimes, though, my comfort is sacrificed due to my sleeping situation–lumpy futon, hardwood floor, loud and inconsiderate roommates, or sleeping in the same room with a cat in heat. I love my friends, so I try not to complain since I’m a guest in their homes. More »
