Etsy user Giddyspinster recycles platform shoes– she removes the top of the shoe, sands it down, drills holes on the bottom for drainage and then plants various cacti inside them. Surprisingly enough, her innovative idea for using shoes as an alternative pot for plants isn’t inspired by the recent green trend–

“The concept is about hard-working women, the increasingly artificial nature of American femininity, and the impossible images that women face in our society. It’s a prickly, spiky, sticky situation…”

As Faith Whittlesey once said, “Remember, Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did, but backwards and in high heels.”

Although this is inspiring, I cannot imagine myself wearing these shoes.

They are really cute but would probably be the WORST thing to walk in^.^
