Written and directed by Angela Kohler & Ithyle Griffiths, Lost Things is a short stop-motion film starring Alison Sudol from A Fine Frenzy, who also wrote the piece of music specifically for it called “Sleepwaking.”
What’s interesting about this film is that the papercut artist, Jonathan Chapman, had been discovered through Etsy. Kohl had found Chapman through his Etsy shop [his username is mrYen] and felt that the style of his paper cuts would fit the theme of her film– which was a homage to Alice in Wonderland– where a girl falls through a hole made of paper and finds herself in a strange world.
“It’s a heartening example of what can be achieved through Etsy. As an international community, [it] can make creative connections over vast distances to great effect.”
