While making my rounds at WonderCon, I came across the Magboo Jewelry booth. I was attracted to the delicate, cute jewelry on display. It was there where I met Tara Magboo, the creator of the San Diego based company. Inspired by Japanese pop culture and artists such as Takashi Murakami, Tara explores her fun and whimsical side through her jewelry line Adorable Mayhem.
With a formal education in illustration, jewelry design, and metalsmithing, she uses her skills to create intricate pieces of jewelry that is both adorable and charming. The first thing I thought to myself when I saw the little sterling silver bear, chick, and bunny charms was, “Aw. So cute!”
Also for sale were t-shirts with original Magboo designs.

What I was most impressed by were the little jeweled terrariums that were on display. One can never go wrong with a hamster holding an axe.

To view more of Tara’s creations, check out her official website.

Next WonderCon will be held April 1-3, 2011 in San Francisco. If you are a tough cookie, Comic-Con is this summer in San Diego. Comic-Con is 100x the size of WonderCon.
