Following Hello Kitty’s 35th anniversary, is this year’s 50th anniversary for Sanrio, the company that brought you Hello Kitty! This August will mark the launch of a year-long 50th anniversary celebration, filled with unique co-branded collaborations, specially designed products featuring iconic Sanrio characters and exciting public events held for Sanrio’s fans around the world. Read on for more details on what’s planned:

- SANRIO x Dr. Martens: Be sure to see the trademark Hello Kitty bow on Doc Martens boots and Mary Janes
- Brunswick: Sanrio will strike with Sanrio bowling balls!

- Special pens and notebooks, coin purses, key caps & lunch cases

…And more, obviously. The fun doesn’t stop there — in addition to in-store celebrations, contests, giveaways and gifts with purchase programs, Sanrio will host a series of events across the country, each with a pop-up shop offering additional limited-edition Sanrio 50 th Anniversary items. For the truly die-hard fans, there will be a short film contest and an iPhone app that will alert them about limited-edition product releases. Surprise interactive get-togethers and other special anniversary events and contests will be announced online, and fans will have the opportunity to keep up to date on new products and events at www.sanrio.com as well as virally on Facebook and twitter.
