Where I live, the weather is pretty aggressive– because of this, many of the umbrellas I own are pretty beaten up and unusable. Sometimes, I love the design on the umbrella too much to throw it away, so I pull the material off and save it, even though I have no idea what to do with it later. Well, I don’t know why this didn’t occur to me before, but you can actually convert it into a skirt.
Umbrellas have a similar size and shape of a skirt, and can be worn as one too with a few tweaks here and there. It’s great because they come in all sorts of colorful and creative patterns, so you’ll have a unique piece that’ll definitely help you stand out from a crowd. The only problem I see is that with cheaper umbrellas, the material is kind of thin and lightweight, so you should probably sew on a second layer to keep it from floating up during a breezier day.
