When I went back to Shanghai last summer, I found myself spazzing over all the cuteness in their stationary stores and I’ll admit, I bought a lot of things I shouldn’t have. The main culprit? Kawaii Decorative Tape. Having been accustomed to boring, so-called ‘invisible’ tape, my mind was blown when I saw that tape could come in different kawaii designs. Apparently Asians are a lot more creative when it comes to scrapbooking and the like because these are way too precious to be used for simple paper taping (although you could, I guess).
I found this cute store online called Kawaii Tape that sells a variety of these decorative tapes. Their single rolls can be bought at $3 each, but they also offer packs of 5 rolls at $10. Although these are a tad more expensive than what I paid (hey, everything in China is cheap), it’s still a great deal for those of you who love arts and crafts. Or, if you’re like me and you just like hoarding stuff you’ll never use…
