Cardigans, cardigans, cardigans. A wardrobe-must that I’ve been lacking for many years, and a layer of comfort that has long been anticipated. After receiving this Long-Sleeve Cardigan, courtesy of YesStyle, I mentally berated myself for not getting one sooner. Its soft cotton material and rich purple color make it easy and comfortable to wear…anywhere!
I was initially attracted to this Tokyo Fashion cardigan because of its color — purple, the only color it comes in, is conveniently my favorite color. However, the actual cardigan is less of a dark lavender color (like what the picture shows) and more of a nice plum color. The cotton material is soft and kind of stretchy, but it’s thin like all of the other cotton cardigans out there, so it doesn’t provide much warmth. Therefore, it’s great with a t-shirt or tank top underneath in warmer weather, but otherwise you’ll need to wear another outer layer.
The cardigan looked great on the model, but unfortunately, it did not fit me too well (or, more precisely, it fit me a bit too snugly). The cardigan only came in “One Size” (Taiwanese measurements), so I was forewarned about the possibility of “too-small-ness,” but it barely came up to my hips! The cardigan looked quite long on the model, but I found it to be too short for my liking. Also, despite what it looks like on the model, the sleeve length is actually about the length of the cardigan itself. In the end, my big bones and height proved to be detrimental, fashion-wise.
Don’t let my comments about the cardigan’s size scare you off, though. The cardigan will look great on anyone who leans towards the “small and slender” end of the spectrum, and its ability to be both casual and formal (depending on what you pair it with) make it a lovely addition to many wardrobes.
