I had always heard good things about the My Beauty Diary facemasks, so I was extremely excited to get the opportunity from YesStyle to review one - the Pearl Powder Mask totally sounded like a treat for my skin right from the start.
Arriving in its cute individual package, I have to note that it felt very full. In the sense that it was saturated with a lot of the to-be magical Pearl Powder liquid, which was good since that meant that there would be a lot of product for my tired skin to drink up.
The product description aims it for anyone who wants to whiten, hydrate, and restore their “skin’s youthful radiance.” A pretty appealing offer, though the whiten could also be taken to brighten up your complexion vs. whiten to a shade of…white.
Opening it up, it was pretty standard for what I’ve used for face masks before, nicely folded on top of a plastic-ish paper to make it easier to transfer the mask from the bag to your face. The size was actually pretty nice since the sideway oval-shape make it fit to the ends of my face really well and all the random crevices of my nose and eyes. The fragrance of the mask was also really pleasant, a very light and soothing floral-y smell that wasn’t overpowering at all.
Though I think my only gripe (that most likely isn’t going to be one for everyone else with a pretty normal sized face) was that the mask area between your nose and mouth was strangely long for me. Since I didn’t want to taste the mask, I had to improvise and cut it a bit to fold away.
As a standard, you’re suppose to leave on the mask for about 10-15 minutes minimum, but depending on when I wear them, I like to leave it on as long as possible (known to sleep in them and just remove it in the morning). But remember that heavily saturated note? Oh my goodness, it seriously stayed as moist as when I first put it on for the next two hours! Very impressive.
Sometime after that, I finally took it off and was super pleased at just how hydrated my skin looked, the “pearl-like” effect seemed to be there too, definitely a brighter look. But it was hard to capture on camera…but it’s there, I promise. Overall, a very solid face mask and I can definitely see why people rave for this particular line of face masks. The start of my addiction begins though I don’t hear my skin complaining at all one bit.
If you want to try this for yourself, you can pick it up right now (on sale) for about $17 at YesStyle.
