Lindsay Lohan has officially just rejected a plea deal offered to her by the Los Angeles District Authority and Judge Keith Schwartz. Since her lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley attended the meeting late Wednesday night, without any agreement from both sides, the trial will now go to court.
She has been accused of felony theft by a jewelry store owner who states the actress reportedly stole a $2,500 necklace in January.
“Judge Schwartz indicated he would give Lindsay less than the six months the DA was seeking, if she plead in front of him,” a source said. “Shawn Holley was asking for no jail time, but the judge said he would sentence her to a minimum of 60 days, but likely not longer than 90 days.”
Judge Schwartz had also “encouraged Holley to discuss what not taking the plea deal will mean for her. Unless Holley is able to convince Lohan who is adamant that she not do any jail time, otherwise, Lindsay is headed for a date in front of Judge Sautner,” the source added.
Due to the overcrowding in Los Angeles jails, even if Lohan is sentenced to serve 90 days in jail, she would probably only serve around 21 days.
