Today’s Cute Girl Watch features younger sister of Beyonce, Solange Knowles, who’s a triple threat artist/actress/model. Although naturally the media have made comparisons between the sisters, Solange points out that they’re both different material.

Dance and theater have been a part of Solange’s life since a child and at the age of nine, Solange started writing songs. Although she wanted to start recording at age 13, she was advised by her parents to be a little more patient and wait. When 15 years old, Solange accompanied her sister on a Destiny’s Child tour.

Raised in Houston, Texas, Solange entered a music career at just 16 with the album Solo Star. Solange signed onto her own father’s record comapny, Music World Entertainment. She has since then released a second album Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams and will release another this year.

Solange’s father has admitted that they wanted to combine Solange’s career with music and acting. She has starred in Bring It On: All or Nothing, Listen Up and Soul Train amongst many others.

Modelling-wise, both Solange and her sister model for the family’s clothing line House of Deréon. Solange has also been an ambassador for Giorgio Armani’s Armani Jeans.
