Actor Mark Wahlberg may throw around the occasional punch (The Fighter) or the occasional tantrum (Andy Sandberg doing perfect imitation of Wahlberg), but this is something most of us probably didn’t expect.

At the TIME 100 party gala, NY Magazine was able to talk to the actor, who revealed before that he is indeed a Justin Bieber fan and that the world needs someone like him. But what really surprised most was that he and the teen pop sensation are teaming up to film a movie together. The project is still under wraps, but it seems to be more of a drama movie.

Well, Justin Bieber is pretty much the hottest “thing” around nowadays. And just about everyone is dying to work with the kid. I think Wahlberg’s pretty smart in doing this - even if the movie is panned by critics, all the Beliebers in the world will still flock to see the movie. Talk about profits.

But I’m just as surprised as you are, though. I think Wahlberg sees a lot of potential in Bieber as an actor, so the project may actually work out. It’ll be interesting to see the two of them work together, given that from my impression, Wahlberg is the type of person who wants to be left alone and Bieber is just this friendly, enigmatic person that pretty much all teenagers love.
