Dr. Seuss’ ‘The Lorax’ Adaptation Stills

Universal Studios is set on making a movie adaptation of The Lorax. The stills that were revealed look much more adorable and nice than I have ever imagined it. Once-ler was in fact supposedly a monster but this time he will have a normal man face.

The minute you make the Once-ler a monster, you allow the audience to interpret that the problem is caused by somebody who is different from me, and it ceases to be a story that is about all of us,” says Meledandri. “Then it’s a story about, ‘Oh I see, the person who led us into the predicament is not a person. It’s somebody very, very different.’ And so it takes you off the hook.

I am glad that the graphics look this good, and I understand what Meledandri is saying. While book didn’t complicate things very much, making Once-ler a monster in the movie would really give a different interpretation to the audience.
