Singer Adele is forced to cancel all her activities for rest of the year due to a problem with her vocal cords known as vocal chord hemorrhage, which is slightly more serious than vocal cord nodules.

Vocal cord nodules happens when your vocal cord swells while vocal cord hemorrhage is when one of the blood vessels on the surface of the vocal cord ruptures causing the soft tissues of the vocal cord to be filled with blood.

Adele will be undergoing a surgery to save her voice. The doctors advised her to rest for the rest of the year in order for her throat to heal properly which means her US Tour will be canceled for good.

A representative of the singer stated,

“It is with deep regret that Adele has been forced to cancel her remaining live dates and promotional appearances in 2011. She is to undergo surgery to alleviate the current issues with her throat — and a full recovery is expected. Doctors have ordered her to rest her voice and completely recuperate before looking to schedule any work commitments.”

Let’s hope she gets well soon!
