The remake, that is. Still, nobody saw that one coming.
An anonymous source told MovieWeb that Justin Bieber was going through many film ideas and he definitely looked up to rapper-turned Oscar nominee Mark Wahlberg. The very same Wahlberg who starred in the 1996 ‘Fear‘ as the frighteningly (see what I did there?) obsessed boyfriend of Reese Witherspoon. Potential remakes would be toned down to a PG-13 rating, but the source insists that Bieber is “obsessed” with the original R-rated thriller.
Why is Bieber’s interest so… weird?
Well, if you think about it, ‘Fear’ is about a multitude of highly graphic and disturbing things. This is probably a good time to skip to the end of this article if you’re the squeamish type. Basically, Wahlberg’s character, David McCall, rapes a girl played by Alyssa Milano, chops off a family pet’s head, sexually interacts with Witherspoon’s character on a roller coaster, fights himself, carves tattoos into his own skin, breaks one guy’s neck and threatens to shoot another.
Can you picture Bieber doing all that? Because I certainly can’t.
