Legendary singer Whitney Houston who once used to rule the pop music stage as queen is now dead. She was merely 48 years of age.
Known most notably for her song ‘I Will Always Love You’, Houston’s publicist, Kristen Foster, stated that the singer had died, but the cause and location of her death remained unknown.
The singer ruled the pop stage in the 1980’s until her tragic fall concerned with immense drug use including cocaine, marijuana and pills destroyed her voice and made her unable to hit the high notes she once was able to.
“The biggest devil is me. I’m either my best friend or my worst enemy,” Houston told ABC’s Diane Sawyer in an infamous 2002 interview with then-husband Brown by her side.
Even after divorcing Bobby Brown and attempting to come back in 2009, she never regained her immense popularity and her voice was never as it used to be. Nonetheless, she still managed to greatly inspire another generation of great artists such as Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey.
My condolences go out to Whitney Houston’s family and friends. She was an immense talent and legend.
