One Direction wins Best British single for ‘What Makes You Beautiful’

Directioners were successful in securing an award for their beloved boyband. Brits Awards 2012 named One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful” as the Best British single. Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson were all ecstatic and said that they can’t thank their fans enough.

Other winners includes Adele, who won best British Female Solo Artist and British Album of the Year for 21. Ed Sheeran was another double winner, taking home best British Male Solo Artist and Best British Breakthrough Act. Coldplay, who opened the show, also took home Best British group. The international awards went to Bruno Mars for Best Male Artist, Rihanna for Best Female Artist, Foo Fighters for Best group and Lana Del Rey for Best international Breakthrough Act. Emeli Sande took home the Critics’ Choice award while Blur received the Outstanding Contribution award.
