How to turn Vampire Diaries green?

His idea, trade in Damon’s 1967 Camaro for a hybrid—a luxury one course, a $100 000 Fisker Karma.

According to him, “The Camaro is a cool car, but you stand behind the exhaust too long and you get sick.” He continues, “Damon has a lot of means to get the car. It looks like a Camaro, but it’s bigger and more beautiful and it’s completely green. It’s electric for the first 50 miles! You’ll have to fill your tank like two times a year!”

But why does Damon want to go green? Somerhalder says, “You have this guy who’s lived almost two centuries, and he realizes, I’m stuck here for the next millennium. I’ve watched the degradation of our earth and our planet, watched the population grow. I have to be around for the next thousand years, I might as well take care of the place. Plus, this car is as sexy as hell.”

Somerhalder’s other genius plan for Damon to go green? “Damon eats people,” he said, “It’s like population control.” (I personally find that absolutely hilarious and horrendous killing people to go green!)

But those aren’t the only things the Vampire Diaries cast and crew are going to be doing. “Everything like plates, bowls, spoons and knives on set are all compostable within 20 to 30 days,” Somerhalder said. “You can bury them and they become plant food.”
