Is Robert Pattinson Joining ‘Catching Fire’?

There is a new rumor floating around that links Robert Pattinson to the role of Finnick Odair for Catching Fire, a former tribute, described as something of a ladies man, who gets dragged into the Third Quarter Quell (a Hunger Games contested by previous winners).

Francis Lawrence took over the directing duties for the Hunger Games sequel when Gary Ross opted out. Pattinson has previously starred in ‘Water For Elephants’ under Lawrence, so there is that connection. That could also be where the rumor is coming from.

Pattinson seems to have attempted to shy away from more mainstream fare recently, such as David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis which we will see him in next, so jumping right back into another big teen-orientated franchise seems strange for him. But who knows, The Hunger Games was very well recieved by critics as well as fans, so that would certainly be a draw for him to take the role, if offered.

Of course, it’s still just a rumor for now, but how would you feel about R-Patz joining this franchise? Would he suit the role of Finnick?
