Several stars have been drawn into the comic world, like Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber, and now Katy Perry is joining the ranks of ‘comicified’ stars that Bluewater Comics is planning on producing.
According to MTV, the comic book will not be capes and fighting. It will actually be a biography of Katy Perry’s life and her rise to fame. From being raised by Christian fundamentalist pastors to her struggles in LA in trying to secure a record deal, everything will be covered - similar to what the singer’s upcoming movie, “Part of Me“, will cover.
However, stars that have been placed into these comics were not very happy. Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber sent Bluewater cease-and-desist letters because their names were used without consent. Bluewater replied, “We are 100% within our First Amendment rights. We knew our rights on this before we jumped into the biography world. These are 100% biographies on their lives.”
Well, we’ll just have to see how Katy Perry reacts. This might be a pretty interesting read since she seems to have a pretty interesting life.
