Justin Bieber Doesn’t Like to be Compared to Justin Timberlake

Recently, Justin Bieber was interviewed by DJ Mojo. Things went well in the beginning of the interview when the pair spoke about Justin’s charity work and his new album. However, things soon became rather awkward and rude.

Mojo tried to compliment the young star by saying “I thought it was Justin Timberlake,” when listening to “Boyfriend”. Mojo added, “I hope you take this as a compliment, I really mean it as that.” Bieber was not pleased, though, and retorted, “Man that’s crazy ’cause our voices sound nothing alike. I mean, saying I sound like someone else is not really a compliment.”

They continued through the conversation, bringing up topics like Mariah Yeater and his new song “Maria”. Mojo then spoke about One Direction and his new friendship with the British boys. Bieber then called them “good kids” and stated, “They were in town a while ago and came over and stuff,” but his lack of interest when speaking about them was very much evident.

The next question, “Do you worry about Harry [Styles] being around your mom since it seems like he likes older women?” was meant as a joke, but Bieber snapped, “I think you should worry about me around your mom, bro.” The DJ replied, “Justin, my mom’s dead so unfortunately that wouldn’t work.”

Justin, having had enough, hung up the phone without another word. A representative from his record company then came on air and explained, “Hi. So, he got a little upset with the question and he probably won’t be coming back.”

Noting that Justin Bieber has made the “mom” joke many times before, this reaction is definitely not necessary! Plus, why not accept a compliment when it’s given to you?
