Having not performed at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee last month, the Spice Girls will get together to perform at the 2012 Olympics Summer Games closing ceremony to be held on August 12. The last time the girls have pubicly performed was back in 2008 but earlier this year, the girls reunited in order to promote a West End musical inspired by their very own songs.

Victoria Beckham, (also known as Posh Spice) confirmed that she and her fellow group members would indeed be performing during a talk with RTE Radio. She said, “I’m so respectful of my past and I love the other girls. We have some fantastic fans. Who knows, maybe some day we’ll do something else with the Spice Girls. I would love nothing more.” Fans of the Spice Girls should be overjoyed at the news that the Spice Girls are still going on.

However, Beckham seems unsure about a comeback tour: “I don’t know about a comeback tour, but I loved being back with the girls. There was a lot of fun, we did so much together and we’ll see. If they’re up for something then I certainly am. We are so proud to be English and we are very excited about the Olympics.”

The performance should be very exciting - not only because of the actual performance, but also because of the potential outfits all the girls will be donning for the ceremony. There’s still a reason to smile even if you’re not looking forward to the Olympics, and that’s especially true if you’re a Spice Girls fan!
