With Mariah Carey to become a judge on the upcoming season of American Idol, first season winner Kelly Clarkson has nothing but praise and excitement for the new judge.

“I’m kind of super-proud that I’m from the show and Mariah Carey’s going to be on it. Just because I’m a huge fan of hers.”

Man fans alike also share Clarkson’s thoughts as the singer has had many number one hits in the past with at least one contestant every season trying to please the judges by singing one of her songs. So, many believe that if anyone was qualified to be a judge, it’d be her because of her experience in the music industry for some many years.
