Miley Cyrus on Being Engaged at 19: ‘Life Is Too Short’

After meeting The Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth in 2009 on the set of The Last Song, Miley Cyrus, 19, became engaged in May.

Although critics say that she is too young, she retaliates by saying: “I don’t really care about the wedding or the piece of paper as much as I do the promise we’ve made to each other.” Also stating that she and her family didn’t see this coming, she admits that the proposal was a “complete surprise.”
