‘Kiss’, The Debut Album From Carly Rae Jepsen

Carly Rae Jepsen who had a big summer hit with her song ‘Call Me Maybe‘ has announced the name of her debut album that will be released on September 18, and will be named ‘Kiss‘.

During the process of writing or co-writing her own songs for her album, she collaborated with LMFAO’s Redfoo.

Even though her hit song ‘Call Me Maybe’ is still going strong, even having a tie with Gotye for most weeks on No. 1 in 2012. The follow up song, ‘Good Time‘, with Owl City has already taken the No. 3 spot on the Pop chart and No. 5 spot in the iTunes chart, and also taking the No. 13 spot on the Billboard’s Hot 100.

“These are lyric and song ideas that I have been collecting over the years,” Jepsen said of ‘Kiss’ in a press release.

She continued, “I can’t tell you how lucky I feel to be able to collaborate with some of my dream producers. It has been the most fulfilling experience. The record is pop. It’s inspired by Robyn, The Cars, Madonna, and believe it or not, James Taylor. I can’t wait to share it with everyone! Kiss.”

On August 22, the singer is set to perform on ‘America’s Got Talent‘, and on August 23 on the TODAY show. Jepsen is also nominated for the 2012 MTV VMA awards for Best New Artist.
