Not that anyone should be surprise, but the ubiquitous Carly Rae Jepsen hit, “Call Me Maybe” will be performed on Glee’s Season 4 premiere titled “The New Rachel”.
Darren Criss basically spilled the beans in a recent interview:
”There will be some songs that feel like this is not a surprise at all,” he said with a laugh. “Just do the math, popular summer songs, and then you hear them and you’re like oh yeah. This really isn’t shocking.”
Last week, the kids shot a group number outdoors on the McKinley High courtyard set. A violinist tweeted that she had a “great time on set, everyone in the band was nice and Darren Criss is hilarious.” An extra also said, “Blaine was singing to Kurt on the courtyard,” for what was reported to be a happy scene.
It hasn’t been revealed who will be singing lead on the song, but it’s a pretty good bet the scene that was shot last week had Darren Criss (Blaine) singing lead. We will all know for sure when Glee’s Season 4 premieres on Thursday, September 13.
And if you still haven’t heard the song (or would like to hear it again):
