The Wanted fans furious over membership prices

The Wanted’s fans are furious with the band as the price for membership in their new fan club, “Wanted World” will cost £100 (around $158USD) a year. This of course is for the platinum membership but gold membership will still cost £40 (around $63USD).

The platinum membership will allow members to view exclusive content such as web chats, behind-the-scenes videos and gives them a first listen to new tracks.

Amy Lawson, 17, south London, tweeted: “Wantedworld is a money-grabbing scheme and a total rip-off, and I think it’s taking advantage of fans.”

Megan Hogg, 17, wrote: “The only people that’ll get wantedworld will be fans young enough to beg their parents or fans old enough who have had a job for a while. It’s making most fans who can’t afford it feel like s***.”

Irish fan @Alibheee_x wrote: “I’m not paying for wantedworld, its a p**stake.”

A spokesperson for the band addressed this issue and confirmed that “not all fans will want to or can afford the subscription offering” but they have no plans to lower the price.

Wow, whoever is willing to pay around $158USD a year for a crappy subscription must be crazy!
