Using their celebrity status to promote a good cause, Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield got creative after their New York City lunch date on September 15.

After the couple realized that paparazzi were waiting for them outside, they created signs in which they held over their faces to send a message.

Their ‘creative’ napkin signs read: “We just found out that there were paparazzi outside the restaurant we were eating in. So… why not take this opportunity to bring attention to organizations that need and deserve it,” followed by links to two charity websites, www.wwo.org (Worldwide Orphans Foundation) and www.gildasclubnyc.org (Gilda’s Club).

In related news, Stone recently supported another good cause that is extremely close to her heart. Miss Stone took time to pose with her mother Krista in honor of breast cancer awareness.

Emma’s mother survived cancer after being diagnosed in 2008. When discussing the hard time, “The Help” star told USA Today, “She still has surgeries to go, and that time period is always kind of present still. So doing that [photo shoot] was just—she’s here. We’re here together as mother and daughter. It was hugely emotional, and I think everyone on set knew that and was hugely supportive of that.”

You’ve got to hand it to them. That was some quick thinking on their part to make the paparazzi spread the news for them, huh?
