Ann, one of our readers, has kindly alerted us to this opportunity to ask Vivenne Westwood whatever’s on your mind (thank you!):

Time Magazine traditionally interviews a prominent individual for its weekly magazine, and recently it has been allowing its readership to do the asking.

In honor of her retrospective finally making it to Beijing and Hong Kong, Vivienne Westwood is taking questions on TIME.com. You can post your questions and see other people’s questions here, and she might actually answer it!

A bit more about this amazing and eccentric designer as described by Time:

For over 35 years she has had a knack for combining the traditional with the outrageous. From defining London’s punk movement in the 70s to creating that extravagant wedding dress that Carrie wore in Sex and the City: The Movie, her designs have always shocked and turned heads. This December, after being deemed inappropriate by a government spokesman in 2004, the V&A retrospective on her work, Vivienne Westwood: A Life in Fashion, will finally make its way to Hong Kong. Vivienne Westwood will now take your questions.

KahriAnne Kerr is just a simple farmer’s daughter from small town Iowa, who somehow wound up being a hoodstuck New Yorker for the last 5 years. KahriAnne graduated from The Fashion Institute of Technology’s fashion design program in 2005. KahriAnne is an independent fashion designer and owner of the hip, funky, rocker chic women’s contemporary clothing line Kahri by KahriAnne Kerr. KahriAnne loves to walk the streets of NYC like they are her own personal catwalk. Shake what ya momma gave ya (or didn’t give ya in my case)!

GirlyBubble loves Party 4 a Cause, which is why we’re super excited about their Rockin’ 90s Dance Party!

One of my favorite dance parties at Yale is a themed 90’s party called “Nostalgia,” and since this sounds like a bigger, crazier version of that it will be guaranteed EPIC. If you’re as nostalgic as I am about the bygone days of Urkel, “Show me the money!”, Clueless (as if…), Screech, The Macarena, Sega Genesis, Ace Ventura (allllrighty then), Ace of Base, Full House, Friends, and the original boy bands, you have to come and show off your version of The Carlton Dance!

If that’s not enough reason to join the party, they’ll also be raffling off great prizes throughout the night like restaurant gift certificates and tickets. Best of all, net proceeds will be going to support a really worthy cause: Habitat for Humanity - NYC and their housing development program for low-income families. Having fun while doing good is what Party 4 a Cause is all about, and we are looking forward to seeing you there!

WHEN: Friday, November 14 @ 10:30pm
WHERE: Stitch NYC, 247 W. 37th Street (between 7th and 8th ave), New York, NY 10018

$10 suggested donation at the door. You must be 21 or older to attend. Attendance is limited, so be sure to RSVP at the facebook or event page. 90’s clothing is optional, but come on - it’s a 90’s party, how can you NOT dress up according to the theme?! If you’re at a loss for ideas, just think Madonna during her “Ray of Light” days and you’ll be good to go ;)

Hi everybody! My name is Ani and I’m a full-time college student and pop culture aficionado. I love all things related to entertainment - movies are my passion and I can’t imagine a life without music or fashion. My purse is always littered with my makeup and clippings of ads I like (a current H&M campaign ad is covered with some mascara from a tube I didn’t close tightly enough - oops!) I’m a slave to the grind, what can I say? I also thoroughly enjoy writing and meeting new people, as I believe everyone has unique stories to offer to the world - and I want to be right in the middle of it. I’ve been writing since I joined my high school paper years ago- nowadays I work on my college’s paper as well as occasional freelancing. I really look forward to being here on GirlyBubble and interacting with everyone.

Hello everyone!  I am elated to be the first official contributing writer for GirlyBubble!  I’m excited to share all my experiences, stories, advice….and of course secrets…shhhhhh…..with all you ladies. And if there are any guys out there reading this…. hmmmm  DON’T GO AWAY….. I’m not judging you!  As a matter of fact….. (clap clap) I applaud you for taking the initiative to understand the complicated mind of the opposite sex!

But before all that excitement happens, I need to introduce myself to you.  My name is JudyMae Chao.  I had been a professional internatonal model for 15 years!  My first contract agency was Wilhelmina Models and I was one of only a rare few Asian models working in main stream NY in the early 90’s.  My clients were major catalog clients like Macy’s , Lord & Taylor, JCPenny’s, Sears…..etc…..  I booked a national Swatch commercial and was the first Asian girl to have a Clairol Color box campaign.  A few years later, being bored with the commercial life, I decided to get into high fashion and editorial modeling.  I signed with FORD Models and began my international career.  I’ve gone on to work with some of the biggest models at the time which includes Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss.  I’ve worked on a Peroni commercial with Kimora Lee.  You can find more information on my site judymaechao.com.  I retired from the industry when I turned 30 to pursue other business ventures. I currently own my own Image Consulting Studio where I mentor young, aspiring girls about the industry.  I teach them the in’s and out’s and lead them in the right direction!  Looking back, life in the world of modeling had been great to me but it didn’t come without challenges and failures.  I’ve gone thru many brick walls and obstacles and I will share them with you all.

As an Asian American girl trying to make it in the industry many years ago….. I only wished I had someone who had gone before me to mentor me……. I didn’t.  But from all my challenges, I’ve learned a lot and I hope to share it with you all and in some way help you to make better choices and achieve your greatest dreams!

It’s here!! Come celebrate the official launch of GirlyBubble at our Fashion Shoot Party. We’ll be at the gorgeous gorgeous Plumm (pictured here) 9:30pm tonight and judging the Model Showdown in which guys and girls will have the chance to compete for top model prizes. It is shaping up to be a night of much glamor, craziness, and trendsetting!

All the latest details can be found in the description of our event page so make sure you check it out before you come. The most important addition is information for models and photographers. We need all of you who are interested to identify yourself as a model or photographer upon arrival. Models - come dressed! Each model will have a limited amount of time on stage for photographers to shoot during Model Showdown. Photographers - please limit your equipment (no large set ups or lighting sets). Photographers are asked to share any digital photos with SCENEPR/Girlybubble and will be admitted on a first come first serve basis.

For everyone else, please remember than an RSVP, 21+ ID and fashionable clothing are required ;) I’m SO pumped it’s hard to control myself (which is quite bad when you’re sitting in multiple large and boring morning lecture classes). See all you pretty party people soon! xoxo

One thing I learned from looking at other girl’s rooms is that there really is no winner! That’s so cheesy, but really I think the best kinds of rooms are the ones that reflect the personality and needs of the inhabitant, so there is no way to determine which is the “best” (although I also suppose that goes for all kinds of design and yet the most popular reality shows are all about picking the “best”).

With that in mind, I decided against picking rooms that have amazing pillow arrangements or incredible artsy wall decorations in favor of someone who made the most out of a really interesting interior design problem - the rooms in her dorm don’t have right angles! It’s a modern building that poses tricky furniture layout situations for its inhabitants. As if that’s not bad enough, she’s not allowed to paint or leave any kind of markings on the bare white walls and sullen dark wood/stone. For anyone who goes to Yale, you know which dorm I’m talking about (not the one with the Lipstick if you’re wondering if it’s Stiles or Morse).

As we gear up for our launch party during Fashion Week we’d like to share with you some juicy details about what we have planned for the night.

We will be featuring a stage area for models (male AND female!) to strut their stuff for the chance to win some fabulous prizes! Photographers will be able to shoot front and center within the VIP section, giving them the opportunity to expand their portfolios and showcase their skills as well (with the best being featured on GirlyBubble afterwards).

The goal is to bring together all kinds of stylish, fun, fashion-loving people together for a night of mingling and partying, but with the added twist of a Model Showdown, so everyone should be looking extra fly that night! We have lots of great gifts in the works from sponsors such as the Bacardi, Rubin Museum of Art, Lee’s Rehab, Viva Salsa Dance Studio, and more… I’m already trying to think of ways to sabotage my own party so I can win these goodies for myself heh ;)
