I was a Lush store virgin up until a few days ago. Popping my Lush cherry was quite a confusing experience. Not only was the store filled with a daunting amount of yummy scented soaps and beauty products, it all looked like food to me! Lush is definitely a toddler mother’s nightmare. When it comes to money, I’m almost Suze Orman good at using it. Note that you just read ‘using’ and not losing. Of course, it never used to be this way. I was once a dumb teenage mall employee making unnecessary purchases left and right. Who knew then that it wasn’t necessary to be buying 10 shades of the same thing? I certainly didn’t. From Flauntme: I’m not exactly sure how long Demeter Fragrances has been around, but it has definitely been a while. I remember being in junior high and sampling every Demeter spray in the collection pretty much every time that I went to the mall (yep, I even loved beauty back then!). They’ve always had some pretty off-the-wall scents, but most of them are shockingly accurate. I remember one of my favorites was Tomato, because it absolutely smelled like the tomato plants my mom grew in her garden.

I also recall loving the Sex on the Beach scent, although at the time I thought it was just a funny name and not a drink. Demeter has a whole line of cocktail-inspired scents that are definitely worth checking out! More »

Despite this, only one remains the most universally acknowledged and beloved: Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly in Breakfast At Tiffany’s. What’s most inspiring about Holly Golightly’s style is that it’s so refined and put together, regardless of the situation she’s in. There is nothing more striking to the eye than the image of Holly Golightly in that black Valentino dress, in front of a Tiffany’s window display drinking coffee and a donut at 6 a.m. Whenever I’m having “off” days or a case of the mean reds, Holly Golightly is motivation enough to endure whatever is making an “off” day “off,” with style. I really hate that I’m initially inclined to feeling like I have to eat something if I see something cute. Fuzzy puppies on the street, babies and cute boys are instant mind triggers for this thought: NOM NOM NOM!!!! In a heartbeat, I’d find myself the nearest nail salon willing to apply Hello Kitty gumball machine nail art to my nails such as the ones pictured above.
