Unless you’re talking the Kirei-Me Magic Painless Hair Removal Sponge (you can breathe now), hair removal is never, ever, ever cute. For most women, hair removal of any sort is the bane of our existence. How many people do you know get excited about waxing, plucking, tweezing or shaving? No one. Despite it’s mouthful of a name, the Kirei-Me Magic Painless Hair Removal Sponge has changed my mind about hair removal, namely the way I feel about removing the hair off my super un-Asian long legs. I was a Lush store virgin up until a few days ago. Popping my Lush cherry was quite a confusing experience. Not only was the store filled with a daunting amount of yummy scented soaps and beauty products, it all looked like food to me! Lush is definitely a toddler mother’s nightmare. Luckily, I walked away from the store without having digested a bar of soap disguised as a cupcake. More »

When it comes to money, I’m almost Suze Orman good at using it. Note that you just read ‘using’ and not losing. Of course, it never used to be this way. I was once a dumb teenage mall employee making unnecessary purchases left and right. Who knew then that it wasn’t necessary to be buying 10 shades of the same thing? I certainly didn’t. Fortunately, over time, my spending habits have become more refined and I am less likely to make frivolous purchases. More »

From Flauntme: So it turns out that chocolate does the body good inside and out (did you read this piece in the New York Times yesterday about chocolate and yoga?)! Having a piece of chocolate usually makes my day a little brighter, but did you know that it also has anti-inflammatory properties? Neither did I! I first saw chocolate wax being offered at a salon a few years ago, and I assumed that it was just being offered as a novelty. Then I looked into it further and learned that it does serve a purpose! From Flauntme: I’m not exactly sure how long Demeter Fragrances has been around, but it has definitely been a while. I remember being in junior high and sampling every Demeter spray in the collection pretty much every time that I went to the mall (yep, I even loved beauty back then!). They’ve always had some pretty off-the-wall scents, but most of them are shockingly accurate. I remember one of my favorites was Tomato, because it absolutely smelled like the tomato plants my mom grew in her garden.
I also recall loving the Sex on the Beach scent, although at the time I thought it was just a funny name and not a drink. Demeter has a whole line of cocktail-inspired scents that are definitely worth checking out! More »

From Flauntme: It’s quite rare that I can walk into a Sephora store and not stop to smell the delicious Philosophy 3-in-1 shampoo, body wash and bubble bath. This line has been around for so long, and they have developed an amazing range of scents that are so spot-on to their food counterparts that I sometimes wish I could eat them (not a good idea with soap, btw). Today I was dreaming about creating my own cupcake-scented shower with Philosophy soaps! More »

When it comes to style, a lot of my inspiration comes from everywhere and anyone. Despite this, only one remains the most universally acknowledged and beloved: Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly in Breakfast At Tiffany’s. What’s most inspiring about Holly Golightly’s style is that it’s so refined and put together, regardless of the situation she’s in. There is nothing more striking to the eye than the image of Holly Golightly in that black Valentino dress, in front of a Tiffany’s window display drinking coffee and a donut at 6 a.m. Whenever I’m having “off” days or a case of the mean reds, Holly Golightly is motivation enough to endure whatever is making an “off” day “off,” with style. I really hate that I’m initially inclined to feeling like I have to eat something if I see something cute. Fuzzy puppies on the street, babies and cute boys are instant mind triggers for this thought: NOM NOM NOM!!!! In a heartbeat, I’d find myself the nearest nail salon willing to apply Hello Kitty gumball machine nail art to my nails such as the ones pictured above. Unfortunately, the one thing that is holding me back from doing this is, I’m afraid of acrylic nail poisoning — I’d want to eat my own nails! More »

From Flauntme: When we talk extreme beauty, we don’t necessarily mean botox and plastic surgery. For the majority of us without the luxury of easily-disposable income, the idea of throwing down $1,000 on one small jar of beauty cream can be seen as extreme. Shockingly in Japan, there are at least 3 cosmetics brands that offer beauty creams that cost an upwards of $1,000: Shiseido, Kao, and Kose. More »

Big hair clips and big bows are getting sensational here in my country (Philippines)! I found this wonderful site which sells these cute accessories called, Glam, Sparkle, and Pop. More »
