I like to think I’m a musical person, and to an extent, I am. For six years, I’ve played the alto saxophone in band. I had an on and off relationship with the piano since first grade. I can blast about four notes on the trumpet and baritone. I crash and slam the percussion “toys”, and I sort of can play the beginning chords of Deep Purple’s “Smoke on Water” on the guitar. While I love to play instruments, I love hearing other people perform more, especially if they are really good at the instruments to the point of being professional. Here are my favourite instrument to listen to while I’m being “serenaded”.

Everquest 2 did a survey on their players to figure out the sexual preference of their users. No idea why but let’s just say Everquest’s surveys in the past haven’t been reliable.

This study states that the majority of women who play MMOs (massive multiplayer online games) are bisexual. Uh…what? In all my experience of playing games, I’ve rarely ever met a girl who wasn’t straight (I can only think of 1 that was Bi). While there are probably Bi’s in the gaming world, the majority of female avatars in MMOs are males pretending to be females. It’s no wonder they’re Bi.

Want to play God….again? You’ll have the chance to do starting Feburary 20th, as the highly anticipated Sims 3 launches.

The highly popular Sims franchise has awed gamers for years - one of the most well known and successful game franchises, spin offs have been made for all gaming platforms to date.

Main changes in the new upcoming Sims include one seamless neighborhood (no more load times!), more in depth character attributes, and a lifetime want and need system overhaul.

Excited? I sure am. Countless errands and essays have been gleefully ignored as I guide my Sim family through life.

You thought making friends in previous Sims was too much of a task. The developers heard these complaints and changed that. You thought that it was extremely limiting having your Sim bound to their home with non syncing time changes. They heard that too. You thought…you get what I’m saying.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, geeky is the new romantic. Remember all those lovey-dovey stories of guys proposing to their girls via games? Well now they’ve made an easy solution so that you can get the geeky proposal of your dreams.

The application is a homebrew DS game called The Search Master. It’s a mini game where you can customize the proposal in the end and after the bride completes the short tile matching game, the proposal will appear and BAM happy ending.

I’m a bit annoyed they’ve made something instead of having the guy put in the effort but still a neat idea.

We’re nearing the final days of 2008. It’s been such a long (stressful) year but there have been some good things that came out of it. Although I wish we were still in 2007 (my Senior year of HS), I’m happy to be moving forward.

But before we do, let’s recap on the best of 2008! Of course it’s all my personal opinion.

Well, the year is pretty much over and it’s time to say “Hello” to 2009 and “Goodbye” to ‘08. It’s also a time to reflect on the past events of the year. It was a cool year in my opinion, I mean, we’ve elected our first ever “Black” president, Sen. Barack Obama and we all went green in an 11th hour attempt to save our planet. Also this year in La La Land (aka Hollywood), Britney didn’t overdose on her own celebrity. WOOT!

It’s  been a great year for music and fashion…aside from the gossip and train wrecks (Hi Amy!).The two always gone hand in hand, so it’s no surprise that there’s been some really awesome creativity going on and you know wouldn’t be a proper entertainment year-end rundown without mentioning Rihanna, who had her shine in both!

Ellen DeGeneres and Britney Spears spent their holiday season by caroling and decorated people’s houses. Not only did they completely embarrass themselves but Ellen actually managed to out gangster Britney with her rapping skills and vandalism ways. “It’s Ellen bitch!” I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard.

Although the blonde babe has suffered the biggest breakout of our time, she has still managed to keep herself together.

Most recently, she graves the cover of GQ magazine in absolutely nothing but a tie. Sounds hot? Of course but she’s also flaunting seductive yet playful smile that begs the question, did Brad make a mistake? Probably not because Angelina Jolie is far sexier now that I’ve seen her butt in Wanted but there’s still hope for Jennifer Aniston.

I used to be highly into The Sims craze. I bought every expansion and new all the ins and outs of the game. However, I’ve grown out of it but I just may get back into it now that there’s a Sims 3 on the prowl.

EA Games has released the European trailer for the third addition. So far it looks good but the content of the trailer is a questionable one. Apparently a mysterious girl sneaks her way into house only to steal candy from kids. What kind of message is EA trying to send?

Regardless, it looks like EA has stepped up their game and it’s about time. Last time I checked, The Sims was still the same repetitive game.

Although WoW has become major cause of college dropouts (according to the FCC), I have not become one of those people. Unfortunately, I’ve actually been to busy to play to make any real progress but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been keeping up with my gaming news.

Kotaku is one of my favorite sites for gaming news (if not the only site I read now), and they’ve recently released their take on the new expansion, Wrath of the Lich King. Overall they said they enjoyed the game but that it was not challenging enough and not for newbies (meaning the expansion doesn’t take place till around level 68).

In addition, WoW has also announced the ability to change up your character for $15. For those of you who love to customize and change their mind like crazy, this is definitely something you’ll want to explore. You’ll be able to keep your characters stats as is but change the outward look of your character whether its, face, hair, skin or sex. Fun stuff?
