Okay not exactly what I would call fashionable but to each their own right? As if! Whoever decided to mutilate these poor consoles should be shot in the face.

A video game themed fashion/lifestyle magazine in France called Amusement is flourished with various “fashionable” console photos and typical gaming scenes. While I’m a bit concerned over the NDS and Wii in the photo, the ideas for the photo shoots make me LOL.

Not exactly a necklace but it’s as good as it’ll get for some people.

Blizzard has recently released the official WoW MMO Gaming mouse. It pretty much looks like a metallic cockroach but it can do a lot more than a regular mouse. There are 13 easily programmable buttons in addition to a LED glow that I find quite attractive. Kotaku seemed to love the mouse; however, the awkward build of the mouse is uncomfortable in addition to it only being designed for WoW.

For my last 2008 “Fab Faves” entry, I’m going to end with a list of my reflections this year. Despite my health going kaput this year, I’m amazed by how much had happened in a single year! I hope you all had a great year! I’m looking forward to 2009 and hope it will be better than 2008!

Girl Gamer: Expanded my game selections for the DS. In fact, the DS is the only system I played on all year long! I even played games I never would have thought to play! (ie: Princess Debut)

Proud Nerd: Discovered that I graduated cum laude with a 3.85 gpa from my uni, to which my mother heard me say it as “cula” and “goon goh goo ma” (sweet potato in Korean).

I took some pictures of my new G1 with the Sony Cybershot I got a couple of months ago (so spoiled by all these tech toys…), except of course I realized that I left the connector at school so I can’t upload any of the photos. Lame.

The picture here though is a pretty good representation of what the thing looks like when in full operation, so it’ll have to suffice as I talk about what I like and don’t like about the T-Mobile G1:

LIKES:
- Service:
It actually didn’t end up taking 48 hours to get the data plan working, it only took 12, so by the time I woke up the next morning I was able to start playing around with the thing.
- Functionality:
Whatever addiction I had to google apps, Internet-use, instant messaging, etc. has been maximized by the fact I can take all of those anywhere now. If I’m stuck in the middle of New York and need directions, GPS spots where I am on google maps. If I’m running around to meetings, I have my google calender schedule at hand. I’m notified when new emails come in so I can check my inbox whether I’m near a computer or not. And all of the other features I expect in a phone (calling, texting, music player, camera, voice notes, etc.) are better than before. I haven’t even had time to check out all the other Android apps available to use, but I bet they’re sweet.

Like I keep on mentioning in this blog, I ordered the G1 over Thanksgiving Break and it arrived at my house several days later, but I had already gone back to school by then so I haven’t gotten a chance to see it until today when I returned home for Winter Break (HURRAH for surviving finals!).

It’s GORGEOUS - white, sleek, deliciously Google-esque in aesthetic (I’ll have pictures up eventually). A little bigger than I’m used to when it comes to cell phones, but considering it’s like a tiny laptop/camera/music player/phone all in one, it’s not big at all.

The catch is that’s all I have right now - the aesthetic. I can look at it but it won’t work until the data service starts. I called T-Mobile today to ask them to activate the phone, but it’s going to take 48 hours. TWO WHOLE DAYS of sitting around looking at the phone and not being able to do anything with it besides turn it on and off, charge it, slip it in and out of it’s little leather case, and wait.

Jeeze if I had known there would be a waiting period involved, I would have called in two days ago and activated it. It’s a phone, not a boyfriend =P

My old phone is as crappy as a cell phone can get so I thought it was time for an upgrade. While I barely use my phone, this one has made my life particularly easier and happier.

I bought the LG CU515 from Ebay. Got a great deal on it too! It’s is a sleek, glossy flip phone that has all your standard features (camera, messaging, etc). It’s a HUGE step up from my previous phone that didn’t even have a colored screen. It’s been slightly used but you can barely tell since it practically looks brand spankin’ new

The only down side to it is that I have to clean it after I use it. The glossy cover is nice but every time I even touch it, it looks like someone molested my phone. It pays to look pretty but other than that, I’m completely in love with it.

Remember that Vivienne Tam HP laptop that I was salivating over a month ago? It’s finally here and available for purchase! Here’s the main site where you can order and the facebook event for more information. If you place an order by Dec. 12, you can get one just in time for holiday giving.

This laptop is part of HP’s “The Computer is Personal Again” campaign. Frankly I’m not sure how personal this is really getting if thousands of other people have the exact same machine with the exact same designs, but I definitely see how they’re catering to a much more specific interest group that isn’t usually associated with tech savviness. It’s a big appeal for girls like me who squeal over Google’s high tech phones just as much as Vivienne Tam’s Spring 2009 collection’s peony floral prints. They seem to get that too, saying “this special edition notebook seeks to satisfy the highly mobile, Internet-centric fashionista.”

Features to consider before you buy: 10.2-inch diagonal BrightView display (very small), fashionable wallpaper (super cute), 8-color finish and custom slip cover (practical), priced at $699 (relatively cheap). The small size will probably comprimise the quality of the computer’s speed, functions, and storage space, but that’s why it’s a digital clutch - you’re only supposed to carry the essentials in this discreet, gorgeous looking little bag that will look fabulous even during a night out on the town. Not sure if you want a laptop with you when you go clubbing, but the concept is close ;)

Rubber Chainmail cuff for men

So you are probably sale shopping your little heart out today, since it is THE shopping day of the year. But of all the people on your shopping list, come on, the boys are the least fun to shop for. So I have compiled a list of fun gifts that hip guys will actually use/wear. And best of all, if they don’t like it, you can use/wear it yourself! Best of all, you can order everything online at www.starsandinfinitedarkness.com, which is one of the hippest online indie boutiques there is on the web. So sit back, relax, and whip out your plastic.

1) Steel Couture: Rubber Chainmail Cuff v08 for Men- $52
This is an edgy cuff for guys who like some accessories. It is 130 industrial strength rubber and steel rings woven together for a manly look. But I’d still wear it!

In my last post I mourned the death of my purple Nokia 5300. But now I’m eagerly awaiting my white Google G1 Phone! It took a while to decide on but now that I have I’m really happy =)

I have to admit it’s costing me a fortune - $215 with a two-year extension of my T-mobile contract ($179 plus upgrade fee and taxes), and it’s an extra $25 a month to operate the thing - but we’re talking about a touch screen, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, internet on the go, all my favorite google gadgets, GPS, music player, video, camera, and of course a deliciously cute and sleek design.

There are a bunch of other features but one I’m particularly interested in trying out is this application that allows you to scan barcodes and do price comparison shopping on your phone so that you don’t have to buy stuff full-price in the store. Budget Shopping Tip #7? It’s up for review as soon as I get my hands on it ;)

Last month, Ming blogged about girly iGoogle themes. Today, I’ll talk about my favourite iGoogle gadgets and news stuff I like to keep up with. Until iGoogle came around, I never really cared for having a “home page”. I remember trying to use Yahoo’s one years ago, but I couldn’t get into it. Now, though, iGoogle’s my god. I cannot imagine my internet life without it now. My only problem is trying to remember to look at all three of my sections instead of just the main one. I know the simple solution to that is to put all of my stuff on a single page, but that will get too cluttered and too complicated for me! Without further ado, here are my favourites.
