For starters, he turns into a chibi form during the day as his powers aren’t strong enough to keep him human-sized the entire day. However, come night, he transforms into his human self and torments Kohaku (well, he does that during the day as well). Kohaku is known as the purest angel amongst God’s angels as it (yes, Kohaku is androgynous and has no gender, but let’s call Kohaku female) is the only one that can sing and bring life to plants and living things. Today’s edition of Origins of Cute features the original Mokona! This Mokona is not be confused with Mokona Modoki. This Mokona is mischievous and looks like a manju bun with a red gem. The only sound he can make is “puu” and is revealed to the Creator of the Earth, leastwise, in the manga version. Only Hikaru seems to understand him. More »

Today’s edition of Origins of Cute features mischievous duo, Mokona Modoki! Based on the original Mokona from popular manga series, Magic Knight Rayearth, Mokona Modoki was created by Yuko and Clow Reed. The white Mokona, Soel, travels with Syaoran and company, while the black Mokona, Larg, is present with Yuko. Soel is able to find feathers for Syaoran and co., and says “Mekkyo” when one is nearby. Larg is more mischievous and is depicted loving alcohol. More »
