True story: A real close friend of mine met Joseph Gordon-Levitt at a Spirit Awards luncheon event. The story of her encounter is enough to justify him being the pick for Cute Boy of the Week. It goes like this; She was manning the front door for the luncheon when he pulls up in an unintimidating Honda Civic, by himself. Instead of being a bold, douche-y celebrity, he actually introduced himself to her in the most humble way possible, to sign him into the event. Later, he was really gracious when she approached him for an autograph. Being a humble, ridiculously good looking celebrity makes him not only the cute boy of the week, but…an overall cute boy. Now why would I think a skinny, androgynous creature like the guy pictured above would be cute? Well, it’s because I find androgynous creatures cute (like Sponge Bob Squarepants). There are other reasons why this particular one is cute to me. Doc Hammer is the co-creator of The Venture Bros., a visual artist, and a musician who has an affinity for finely tailored suits and wears rings on almost every finger. He also is an avid reader of 19th century literature, smokes cigarettes, drinks coffee, has tattoos all over his upper body, and has wit and charisma seeping out of every pore. Due to popular demand, this week’s pick for Cute Boy of the Week is Japanese/Spanish actor Shirota Yuu. I don’t know a lot about this guy, aside from the fact that he’s a favorite among you all. That and he’s really, incredibly, good looking and has played the role of Tuxedo Mask in Japan’s Sailor Moon Musicals. Leave it to me to have a serious girl boner on the one member of a Korean pop (Kpop) boyband who isn’t Korean. Of course, this doesn’t matter really. Thai American Nichkhun, or more lovingly known as Kun, runs with a pack of cute Korean boy band members called 2PM who can sing and dance well. Through Ningin, the other site I manage, I was able to see them live earlier this year, stateside. From then I knew it was all over. This girl boner would never go away. More »

So, this week’s Cute Boy of the Week is literally…a cute boy. At only 15, soul/R n’ B singer Justin Bieber has to date, 80 million views on his Youtube channel. It was actually Youtube that brought his talent to the attention of Usher who then helped him sign on to Island Records. 80 million Youtube hits and attention from Usher can’t be wrong. Life, why are you so hard sometimes? The chief of my morning was spent scouring every Internet corner for a cute boy with donuts. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate every hour, minute, second, nanosecond, giga second of work. It’s the daily torture that makes things hard: I’m not always eating donuts or cupcakes. Sad, but true. As a blogger, I think this is one of the hardest blog posts I have to write. When I dreamed up this weekly feature I thought it was a genius idea…as I tend to think of most of my ideas.
