Since I don’t have a Christmas tree (I never had the patience to decorate one) then I guess the next best thing to decorate is… well, myself. I know it’s weird that I don’t have any Christmas decor at all (except for a plain white parol situated outside our window), but to each her own. More »
Other than of course GirlyBubble, I frequent a lot of websites (daily) and that’s not including Facebook. While there’s probably a lot more out there that I haven’t visited, the following are a few of my faves. More »
Well the year is already a day old, and like everyone else on the planet, I’ve got some goals that I want to achieve this year. The thing is though, that I’m not really good with keeping these resolutions. LOL They usually fade into oblivion by March. I think that happens because I always have this ambitious laundry list of things that I want to accomplish and in the end, I’m just overwhelmed with how much I “need” to do, and end up either half assing it, or putting it off until never. Yeah, I said until never. Down with Procratination!
Yeah, another post about Polyvore. I can’t help it. I’m supposed to be studying for my very last final of the semester (which is tomorrow), and my study breaks are getting longer and longer as I waste precious time creating sets. It sucks so much that I don’t have a doppleganger to either study or polyvore for me. Poo! WHY MUST THE HEAVENS BE SO CRUEL!?!
So, awhile ago, I made a few posts about the fashion disasters of Katie Perry, Lil’ Mama, Raven and Beyonce. I kinda felt upset about it for some time, because I felt like someone was out to get these ladies, and decided to make them look like FOOLS in public. And so, in an attempt to prove to myself that looking like who-did-it-and-won’t-admit-it is not the only look these chicas have to choose from, I went pic hunting. I actually left out Beyonce’s better looks, because, well, I don’t think she’s had that many WTF moments in her fashion choices lately. I did however, dig around for some proof of flyness from Katy, Mama, and Rae….

That’s what Shana Victor, the woman behind Shana Logic wants you to do. Why? Because indie is where it’s at. Seriously. How else can you find some of the coolest, most creative and individual clothing and accessories out there?! Created as an alternative to shoping at mass product retail stores, Shana Logic offers cool crafts created by cooler artists all in one place! I’m talking everything from makeup to prints, to clothing and jewelry! Some of this stuff is too cute for words!
I’ll be the first person to admit that “girly” is not a word to describe me. I don’t like make-up, shopping, and the colour pink. I stay away from those products that makes me look like a clown, I shop like a man who hates shopping, and I like the colours blue, black, and white. However, I was into the typical “girly” stuff when I was younger. Even now, no matter how hard I try to deny most of the girly stuff in the world, there are a few things that bring out the “Curious George” in me.
Lately, a bunch of Nintendo DS games have piqued my curiosity. I’ve tried such games like Imagine: Figure Skater and was met with disappointment and a regret for even bothering to try them. However, I think through all the pains I went through trying these games geared for the younger female audience, I finally found a winner with Princess Debut. More »

Recently my much loved homepage iGoogle just got much better on both the design and practicality fronts.
The artist themes that you can select for personalizing your homepage now include a whole slew of my favorite musicians (Radiohead, Coldplay, Gnarls Barkley, etc.) and fashion designers (Gucci, Burberry, Dolce and Gabanna, Michael Kors, Vera Wang, Jimmy Choo, Diane Von Furstenberg, Herve Leger, Vivenne Tam, etc.) - there are so many great new designs that I keep changing my preferences around so I can get to all of them! At the moment I’ve selected BCBG Max Azria (screenshot here) because it’s lovely and I’m a huge fan of his line. Other great girly themes include Anna Sui, Sergio Rossi, Stella McCartney, and Sara Bareilles just to name a few.
The other great change has been the movement of tabs to the side and the introduction of canvas-view gadgets. Now all the apps I have are dropped down in a way that makes them all much easier to access (it’s like a new set of bookmarks/toolbar links within your iGoogle page). The canvas-view also means that I can look at everything on a wide page within the iGoogle page itself and not have to open it up in a new tab - a browser within a browser if you will. As an example, here’s a canvas-view of New Haven weather. More »
Random trip to the mall, I noticed the Steve and Barry’s was closing down. It’s really unfortunate but then again who can deny the sales? All the shirts throughout the store were going for $5 or less – and there were a lot of shirts. Not only that but jeans, sneakers and everything else were considerably cheap.
While there were numerous shirts, I noticed these particular shirts from Amanda Bynes’ clothing line Dear. I really love her style and she’s one of the few celebrities that haven’t gotten sexual or crazy. Looking through the racks of clothes featuring her line, they really do represent her taste in fashion which is super cute and girly.
While I was going to buy the shirt, I thought to myself “what if GirlyBubble did shirts like this?” DUN DUN DUN! Not that I’m hinting anything but who doesn’t love a cute graphic tee?

I horde digital images - humor, inspirational, sarcastic, poetic, nonsense, artistic, what have you. This means I have collections of postsecrets, xkcd comics, Jean-Sebastien Monzani photography, etc.
Here are my favorite collections of illustrations and art that are spunky, cute, and quintessentially girly. Enjoy! More »

I love so many kinds of drinks - teas, sodas, juices, soy milk, shakes, smoothies, coffees, cocktails, power drinks, punches, the list goes on and on.
But here are a set of non-alcoholic drinks that are my all-time favorites and must-haves whenever I’m somewhere that offers it. Girly, delicious, and super feel-good treats! I’ve listed one for each season, so it’s time to try out the one for autumn now that summer’s over.

Every girl has that one something that they wear all the time, with everything, and for almost every occasion. Whether it be a purse, a pair of shoes, or your favorite jeans, it is in the eye of the beholder “the ultimate piece”.
My “ultimate” piece is the hoodie/sweater dress. I absolutely love them, because they’re so versatile. Depending on the cut of the dress, it can be worn in many different ways. I personally like sweater dresses without logos or any other distractions because then I can accessorize in any which way I please. Take for example this Delia’s hooded sweater dress I’ve polyvored. It’s the perfect canvas! As you can see, I’ve compiled three totally different outfits using that one dress. I’ve also added a multi colored clutch that works well with each scenario. The pink option kinda spiffs up the otherwise casual frock into something you could wear out with your special someone to dinner and a movie. More »

Who says good makeup has to cost an arm and a leg?! As a self-proclaimed lip gloss addict, I can tell you that makeup in general is one of my favorite things about being a girl. However, I don’t like having to put a tube of lip gloss or an eyeshadow on layaway. That’s why I love NYX Cosmetics. It’s like getting MAC quality make-up for a fraction of the price plus I don’t have to put up with the too-busy-doing-my-own-makeup-to-help-you makeup artists/sales people and those hot ass vanity lights. I moved back to school today and spent the whole day sweating over getting a ridiculous amount of junk packed, loaded, unloaded, and put away. It’s a process I never liked because it makes me lament buying so much cute clothing I want to take with me, but there is something to say for the soothing effect of homemaking (nesting instincts kicking in much?)
I’ve seen many many dorm rooms in the last few years and anticipate I will continue seeing more. I’ve seen everything from the most neatly dolled-up and pinked-out sorority rooms (as pictured above) to the most ridiculously trashy and weedy-smelling dens. How you keep your space says a lot about you and it makes me curious what all of YOUR rooms are like.
So this is the deal: Send pics of your room (dorm room or not) to ming@girlybubble.com and I’ll post my favorite(s) in a week. Obvs I will respect your privacy and will not use pics submitted for any other purpose than this mini-contest and I will keep your name off at your request. Winner gets the opportunity to guest post about her interior design skillage and a free pass to the VIP area of the Fashion Shoot Party! (see my last post for details). And when my room finally stops looking like a clothes-bomb went off in it I’ll post pics of mine as well ;D
