I’ve recently been using some acronyms around my girl friends to gossip about boys and relationship issues that I have to stop and define because they’ve never heard it used before. Here are a few shorthands, some common knowledge and some not, that are in my vocabulary and have made talking about these things that much easier/funnier ;)

OTP - On the Prowl
Ex. My boyfriend and I just broke up so I’m back OTP.

DTR - Define the Relationship
Ex. I’ve been hooking up with this guy but I don’t know what he’s thinking. Is it time to DTR?

LDR - Long Distance Relationship
Ex. LDRs are tough but I believe they can work if both sides are fully committed and the LD will end in some foreseeable future.

SO - Significant Other
Ex. Boyfriends, husbands, fiancees, etc.

PDA - Public Display of Affection
Ex. He’s not big into PDA, but it’s not ridiculous of me to want to hold hands in public sometimes, right?

TLC - Tender Loving Care; ISO - In Search Of
Ex. I’m ISO TLC.

This year there has been a few romantic moments in the geeky world like this one.

A gamer by the name of “TheRealPfhreak” wanted to recreate his first date with his now fiancé but couldn’t find a way to do it without her knowing. So he decided to digitally recreate the entire event through one of her games, Chrono Trigger. He learned ROM hacking and was able to successfully recreate the events within a month. While she was playing through the extra area in the game, her named appeared which she then glanced over at him while he was down on one knee and then looked back at the screen to see the proposal. She of course said yes but not without admitting “You are such a nerd! I love this!”

How adorable is that! My best wishes to them. While it is a nerdy/geeky/whatever proposal, it took a lot of work and creativity to get it done. It’s definitely one they’ll talk about for years to come.

On that note, I’ve decided I want a really geeky marriage proposal too. Ha!

This week I’m going with love songs. Not that anything special has happened to me but I was going through my playlist and noticed that the majority of my songs were about love. Then again, the majority of songs are about love. Anyways, these are a few of my favorites and while some of them may be a bit depressing, they are nonetheless passionate and sweet.

Well, it’s my turn to play “Get to Know Girlybubble!” and I thought I’d introduce some of my favorite musicians to you ladies and gents. Why musicians? Well, I honestly feel that music is the language of the soul. Many of the artists I listen to do not sing in English, and if they do, it’s rare. Do I understand what they’re saying? Yes and no, but it hasn’t always been that way, and it hasn’t always mattered. I get asked a lot why I listen to the music I do, and I can’t really explain it other than, I like the way it sounds. I feel that music transcends all of te barriers we create to separate ourselves from….ourselves. SO, with that, here are the artists who’ve touched my soul with their sounds.

The other morning, I decided to make breakfast for my hubby and me. We decided to take the typical eggs and toast route which I was completely addicted to a few weeks ago and now it’s part of our selection of meals. Especially with Polaner’s fruit jam, it’s like heaven in my mouth every time we eat this meal.

But anyways as I’m cooking, I crack one egg and realize two yolks come out of the same egg! I completely flipped out because I had never seen one before in my life. I was so happy I start jumping up and down yelling at my boyfriend to go grab my camera. Surprisingly enough, he actually ran all the way downstairs to our basement to go grab it. I couldn’t stop laughing in the mean time and the eggs were starting to burn. Finally he gives me the camera and we’re both just laughing at the randomness.

He later tells that it’s pretty common to find double yolks as they now have created a way to genetically make chickens lay double yolk eggs. He really busted my bubble at this point but at least a funny story came out of it.
