So the other day I read a post on a celebrity oriented forum in which one member felt that superstars have “some sort of deep seated insecurity” based on the fact that in order for them to get to where they are, and why they do/did it is some how strange. As the poster put it, “That kind of drive is abnormal.” Now I’m sure you’ve heard this same sentiment before, and you’ve probably joked with your friends about it. But if you really think about it…really think about the entertainers and artists who are on top of their game, is it true? Are they somehow abnormal for wanting to become super popular, super rich, super…super?

So last night was the premiere of the MTV documentary Britney: For the Record. Sitting through the one hour show, I learned a lot of new things about the young pop star.

For starters, her dad believes that Cheese Grits is the breakfast of champions. I didn’t know if I could take the show seriously after that point but as the commercial-less show rolled on, she repeatedly expressed how lonely, hurt and limited she is. Half the time she’s explaining that the paparazzi are evil and that her lifestyle is preventing her from being a free spirit. She also touches on the past three years about her kids, Kevin and odd moments like shaving her head, most of which weren’t really clarified.

In the end, I can honestly say I feel for her and that she could use some real friends. Also her Circus video looks awesome.

Last night on Paris Hilton My New BFF, the girls were put to the test on their creativity and style. They had to direct a photo shoot for Paris that consisted of high fashion and a pain in the ass photographer. All the girls did well but Vanessa ended up winning despite that she seemed like a stalker throughout the whole shoot.

Next the girls were put on radio with Ryan Seacrest. Each of the girls was questioned by Ryan where he then gave his insight to Paris. Basically it was things we already knew so I wouldn’t call it much of an insight.

Wanting to get to know their true colors better, Paris tested them again by pretending to kick each one of them off the show. Talk about harsh. Vanessa obviously cried, Brittany was hurt, Corrie was sad but was happy to go home and Shelly said it was just fate (but really you could tell she was hurt).

This then put the girls through real elimination where two people were eliminated: Shelly for seeming like she didn’t care and Corrie for being self indulgent. Finally for Corrie! I’m sad that Shelly was kicked off. I honestly had hopped Vanessa would be because she’s really starting to creep me out.

This week Paris Hilton had the girls go through a makeover that wasn’t what they expected. Their stylist were former BFFs that were basically paired up with girls they had beef with while they were in the house (Corrie – Beige, Vannesa – Kaley, Lauren – Onch, Shelly - Natasha, Brittany – Kiki). Of course most of them ended up looking like crap but I think most of that was thanks to miscommunication. The stylists were told that the ugliest would win but really it was the prettiest. Shelly won (according to Corrie, messing with Shelly is like messing with Mother Teresa) and Vanessa lost. She was so disgusting it wasn’t even funny.

Next came a charity fundraising challenge: the girls were given a life-size cut out of Paris to use to raise money on Hollywood Boulevard. All the money raised would be donated to Animals of the Valley. It was honestly really stupid but sweet. Corrie obviously did the best thanks to her spokes model skills whereas Shelly was too shy to step up.

During all this time, the girls were going through serious drama. There was a lot of tension throughout the episode especially for Lauren since she’s ditzy, catty and inconsiderate which was brought up at elimination. All girls were up for talk and when Lauren was evaluated, the gloves were off. Everyone except Shelly spoke up about Lauren’s issues which obviously counted against her since Paris eliminated her for tonight. Not a big surprise, I’m hoping the next to go is Corrie or Vanessa.

Ugh the show is starting to get frustrating. Thank God there are only 5 girls left.

So in this episode the girls were given the challenge to get as many guys back to the LA mansion as possible. While Corrie and Lauren got around, Shelly, Brittany, Kaley and Vanessa held back. In the end, only 5 guys showed up in total (Vanessa had two whereas Shelly and Brittany had none). Vanessa won the challenge and was given the power to help Paris with the upcoming challenge and elimination.

Next was judgment time where Paris and Vanessa got to grill everyone’s past. They brought in video tapes of their enemies saying who they really were. Most of them were pretty scandalous especially Corrie who’s ex friend said she slut it up around town; however, as expected Shelly was the sweetest with nothing bad to say (but someone thought she might be boring).

Now, I didn’t watch the MTV Europe Awards, so I don’t know the context of these outfits; however, they’re very eyebrow-raising, right? There’s a fine line between quirky that works, and what in the hell!? Katy Perry, who normally falls in the quirky that works catagory, wore some really out there fashions at the awards that wobbled between ooh and ew.

Sorry this is a tad late. It showed during the announcement of the new President which I wasn’t going to miss. I would have had it up sooner if MTV didn’t take forever to put it up. Ugh!

This week on Paris Hilton’s My New BFF, the girls went to party it up in Vegas Paris style.

The girls flew there on a private jet from the Venetian which most of them have never done except for Kiki who blew off the entire experience. When they arrived, they were put in the Penthouse which was completely decked out. There weren’t enough beds; however, which left one of the girls to sleep on the cot. Shelly was going to sleep with Lauren but then Kiki kept bitching that her and Lauren were going to. Shelly ended up leaving to sleep on the cot which of course started some tension.

Next they all prepped for a night out on the town. They stayed out till 5am going to various parties and restaurants in their honor. By the time they got to bed they were dead tired but became even more so after three showgirls showed up to take them to “showgirl boot camp”. They ended up practicing for three hours but it later paid off as Paris treated them to a spa treatment. While there, the girls were given private notes that had malicious rumors about each of them. Some of the girls became angry or hurt while other blew it off. It was later revealed to them that it was all fake and a challenge which Brittany won.

Finally, their big debut came on the Vegas stage where they performed their showgirl routine. Most of the girls pulled it off despite their insecurities while others (or Kiki) didn’t take it seriously stating that they “weren’t dancers”. Kaley ended up winning the challenge whereas Lauren and Kiki were up for elimination.

Lauren was put up due to her break down right after reading the fake rumor while Kiki was up for being a bitch. Of course Kiki went home and then the girls were given another challenge: pick up a bunch of guys.

This show just never gets boring.

This week’s episode was a little frustrating. While it did have its usual twists, some of Paris’ decisions were disappointing.

The girls were first tested on their knowledge of Paris through a mini game show. At the end up the game, Kiki won and had the choice between shopping and time with Paris. She of course picked Paris because her ass would have been kicked off if she didn’t.

Meanwhile Paris tells the rest of the girls that Corrie will be picking one of the remaining girls to be eliminated. She made this decision due to the fact that the rest of the girls ganged up on Corrie for being racist. Uh what? This completely pissed me off. While I don’t support the fact that they were all against her, she should have just said sorry in the first place. Note that she waited till after she was going to be eliminated in the previous episode to apologize for all her actions.

Anyways, Corrie ends up picking Zui because she thought Zui would make a bad friend and because of her threats (two episodes ago she threatened to stab Corrie). Uh it was Corrie’s fault for instigating the situation.

Next Paris tells the girls that they’ll be playing “7 minutes in Heaven” with one of her celebrity friends. The man turns out to be rapper “Dirt Nasty” who isn’t that cute and apparently smells bad. Most of the girls were able to keep to themselves; however, it was a different story for Lauren, Natasha, Kayley and Brittany. Lauren ended up kissing him and Kayley molested him with a pink feather while Brittany bored Paris out of her mind with idle chatter and Natasha gave the typical attitude.

Finally it was elimination where Kayley, Natasha and Brittany were up for talks. Paris didn’t appreciate Kayley being a slut, Brittany’s boring show and again Natasha’s attitude. In the end, Natasha went home for being a bitch. Finally! It’s been three episodes.

This week on Paris Hilton’s My New BFF involved nothing new. And by nothing new I mean the normal twists and turns.

The girls are put to the test on their professionalism as they go into a shoot involving them to strut their stuff. Some of the girls break out their shells (like sweet Shelley) while others get a little feisty with the director. /Cough Natasha. The director gives her some harsh comments which she doesn’t take to lightly; she gives the director attitude which Paris points out but she bitches back. Didn’t Paris just talk about adjusting your attitude last week in Japan?

Next the girls are analyzed by celebrity dirt queen, Perez Hilton. His mission is to find out whose fake which he did. Turns out Corrie and Onch were the fakest while Zui and Shelly were their true selves. This puts Corrie up for elimination as she was voted by everyone as the fakest; however, shortly after she talks to the girls and apologizes for her behavior which the girls do in fact accept.

Elimination rolls around and Corrie and Onch are up for talk. I was surprised since Natasha was the one who didn’t step up. In the end, Onch was sent home for hogging all the attention. Everyone ends up in tears and just passes by Corrie to stand alone. Shocker? I think not, I can’t believe no one called her out on being a racist!

According to the recent news, Britney Spears’ newest single “Womanizer” has topped the charts. It just goes to show that she still has it even after all the drama the past few years. I guess there really is no such thing as bad PR.

While I love the Britney (specifically the old Britney), her recent songs aren’t anything special. I’m really surprised that she’s doing so well especially after the MTV Music Video Awards where she won 3 awards. Congrats to her but did she really need to be naked in the video? There was absolutely no point of the sauna other than to show that she’s slimmed down from her pregnancies. Although I would have preferred if she did it when she performing “Gimme More” at the MTV Music Video Awards in 2007 wearing nothing but lingerie.

Anyways, go her for bouncing back but is it just me or does she still seem a little angry about Kevin?
