In selecting the 10 Cutest Youtube Animal Videos of 2009, I had only two requirements. One, that they must be super freakin’ cute animals and two; at least a million other people thought so. Aside from chocolate and attractive men, puppies are one of my biggest weaknesses in life. My puppy love started when I was a young girl. My family owned a mini poodle that we called Pochacco, named after the Sanrio character of the same name. (Surprise, surprise.) It’s a fact, some people can whistle, some people can’t. Is it genetic? Who knows. All I know is that whistling is especially cute when cute animals do it that aren’t birds. No offense to birds or anything. I think you’re cute and all, but whistling for you is just expected, yanno? To qualify as cute, we need to be kept on our toes. This is a no-brainer. Hands down, the puppy wins. What is it about glasses making puppies instantly cute? This isn’t to say that they aren’t cute already. Glasses on puppies is exactly how I feel about attractive men, when wet. (What is it about water making attractive men more attractive-er?) When I think of state lotto commercials, I think images of people on yachts, bottles of Cristal, mansions and middle class people frantically jumping up and down when they’ve discovered they’ve won the lotto. Nowhere near this mix are images of fuzzy bunnies, puppies, kittens and piglets. I obviously, am not from New York. Apparently, New York is now marketing it’s lottery to New Yorkers with cute animals in it’s Sweet Million Campaign. More »
