Stop in the name of love! So says this random picture of a heart-shaped red traffic light, at least. I found this image off of Le Love, one of my favorite romance image blogs. That said, I’m not sure if this traffic light is real or not. I’d like to think it was real. I don’t understand why traffic lights have to be so boring usually. If anyone knows the exact location of this traffic light, let me know!

Apparently in Japan, wearing matching couples’ underwear isn’t a big deal. It’s cute, yes. But, at the same time, I would never subject a boyfriend to wearing anything that matches me or vice versa. It’s a little too cheesy for my taste. More »

The snow appears to be melting this time of year, but for these two snowmen, the only thing keeping them together is love. At least when they melt away, all that remains is the heart. And the twigs. And whatever they have for eyes. Love should withstand all seasons, ya know? More »

Library books are hardly the first thing that pops into my mind when it comes to wedding invitations. One particular couple, Casy and Amy, thought it’d be clever to send out library book-themed wedding invitations. To create the invitations, they collected a lot of old books and screen printed the “Casey & Amy” design on each one and used the library theme for their RSVP cards on the reverse side. For a person like me who tends to toss out boring wedding invitations, the wedding invitation masquerading itself as a library book is definitely for me. I’ve been known to keep an overdue book or two around. More »

There is that old saying that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. A creative approach to showing your sweetheart you love him is through Valentine-themed bento designs. It is a great way to surprise him during lunch, and he will surely appreciate the time and effort you put into creating and preparing something special for him on Valentine’s Day. More »

When falling for someone new or being in love, does it not seem like every love song you hear knows exactly what you are feeling, even the most cheesy ones? Even if you are single, sometimes when a certain love song comes on the radio, do you not think of a blissful memory you have of an ex? Music is funny that way when it invokes the feeling of love in us. This is why I sometimes feel like music is my boyfriend, whether he is an ’80s classic or Beyoncé. The first lyrics of my favorite love songs are what drew me to them. Here are my Top 5 favorite love songs for Valentine’s Day. More »

In addition to being huge on romantic comedies, TV shows and vampire books that start with the letter “T” and end in “wilight,” I am a sucker for romantic photographs. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Show me pictures of sunsets, people holding hands or witty romantic sayings and I’ll probably eat it up for breakfast, lunch and dinner.Below are 10 romantic images that pull on my heart strings really hard. Sweethearts and Twitter have come together to create the newest phrase for the 145 year old candy, which is “Tweet Me.” Consumers were the reason behind this union. An online survey was conducted where they got to choose phrases that would end up on the heart-shaped Valentine’s candy. “Tweet Me” was first, while “Text Me” and “Love Bug” (inspired by the Jonas Brothers song) came in second and third. The Romeo and Juliet (1996) soundtrack is a soundtrack that has gone down in music history as one of the best movie soundtracks ever. According to me, at least. The Wannadies “You and Me” song is among one of my favorites on that soundtrack. The reason why I love it is kind of the reason why I love the entire Romeo and Juliet soundtrack — it’s sappy, romantic and sweet sounding due to the simplicity of the song. More »

There’s a lot you can tell about a person based on the things they Google search. Parisian Love is one of many Google search story videos that chronicles love simply through the things one would search for — when in love. I could go on and try to explain how you could tell that a person’s in love through Google searches, but the video is pretty short and self-explanatory. More »

Some secrets are better left untold. Unless the secret in question is Stereo Waltz Film’s secret marriage proposal video of Amy and Casey. Secret marriage proposal videos aren’t made often, and ones that happen to be beautiful are a rarity. What makes this particular secret marriage proposal video beautiful is the simple story behind it. More »

Radiohead’s True Love Waits song is one of few songs that are actually powerful enough to pull my heartstrings…to the point of breaking. With that said, it is no doubt on top of my list of the most romantic songs, ever. Unfortunately there is no studio version but there’s something hauntingly beautiful about hearing the live acoustic guitar paired with Thom Yorke’s voice. Give it a listen: More »

There is something strange I have always found about The Magnetic Fields. Their songs tend to have very sorrowful, poetic lyrics about romance set to beautiful, whimsical, cutesy, and happy sounding musical arrangements. Confusion and irony aside, this is okay with me since this is a reason why they are one of my favorite bands. This Tuesday, Jan. 26 the band will release a new full length album called Realism. If you are already fan like I am or curious as to who they are, you can preview the album on their MySpace (or watch the fan-made video below). The closet romantic in me is in awe with what is heard so far. More »

You know, I can’t help it if I was born with ovaries that like a good challenge. A challenge that almost always results in failure. For my ovaries, that challenge is to withstand a romantic comedy (romcom) without feeling the need to implode on themselves. I am constantly on the lookout for good challenges. And by good challenges, check out my list of romantic comedies I am so, totally, looking forward to. More »
